A SONday Scripture.....

Edited to add:

Romans 12:18
 If it is possible,
as far as it depends on you,
live at peace with everyone.

When God inspired this scripture,
HE KNEW it wouldn't be possible to get along with everybody.
That part that says "as far as it depends on you"......
well, that speaks to me and my attitude.....
which very often.....
simply put.....
sucks!

The closer we try to live for the Lord, the more obstacles that seem to get thrown in our way.  That's simply because satan -  (I refuse to capitalize his name) - has no reason to bother us when we just don't care and allow the world to enter into our thoughts and actions.  If we are trying our best in our Christian walk, he's gonna throw everything at us he can to get our focus off the Lord......
and onto ourselves in the form of selfishness and pride.

You want to know how I know these things?

Personal experience!

Especially, in that area of pride.

When the "obstacle" that is getting in our way is another person, I want to show kindness.....
and grace.....
and mercy.....
as much as is humanly possible.

Because Jesus certainly shows those things to me.....

Every.Single.Day!

Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you,
which is good and pleasing and perfect.

HOPE your SONday is awesomely blessed!

Breathing in Grace,

  1. Thank you for such a lovely post, Deb. It is often hard to throw kindness to people who continue to hurt you or cause you pain, isn't it? Have a lovely SONday, my friend. Blessings

    1. Our SS teacher tells us that's what the Lord desires....transparency. Maybe that's part of having a broken and contrite heart. HOPE your SONday is chock full of blessings.

    1. Thanks, Ms. Terri. HOPE you've had a great SONday, now that it's winding down! I remember when I worked I always started getting sad on SONday evenings, dreading the next morning! Very happy I no longer have to do that....HOPE you get to retire soon.
