{ under the weather learning }

I've been under the weather for about a week.
The doctor said that it was probably "low grade" for a while and looking back.....
you know how hindsight can be.....
I really haven't felt well for over a month -
low back pain and just plumb worn out!
That's one reason my hubby and I decided to not work around the house last Saturday, but to take a little short trip just for fun, as we both were just not “up to snuff”.  As the day progressed, I kept feeling worse and worse and what had been dragging me down for a while turned into a full-blown UTI/bladder (probably TMI) infection and I was completely down for the count.  I hadn't felt that bad in.....well, years!  I think the last time was a bout with the flu and that was ages ago, too.  Honestly, the pain was equivalent to my labor pains almost 36 years ago.....OUCH!  If you know me, you know I NEVER go to the doctor, except for my yearly check-up, but this warranted a trip to see a professional.  I couldn't see my regular doc but was able to see another lady in the practice and my daughter told me I would like her.....
and did I EVER!!!
She prescribed a Rocephin shot (my hip is still sore....LOL).....
and a 7 day round of Cipro.....
and said I would start feeling better the next day.
I'm hear to tell you.....

ROCEPHIN ROCKS

I felt much better that afternoon!

I couldn’t help but wonder if my regular doctor would have prescribed a treatment that was as effective as this lady.  I have no way of knowing!  I do know that it worked out just the way that God had intended.

I'm sharing this with y'all, not for sympathy, because I'm a NEW woman now!!! YIPPEE!!!  I just wanted to tell you that even in any kind of suffering we go through, there's a lesson to be learned.  This little bout with a “minor” illness (which, honestly put me out of commission) also opened my eyes to see some things in my life more clearly.  Not being able to do much gave me time to think and pray and read scripture and PONDER (my word for 2015) on certain things. God showed me some "stuff" that was quite hurtful .....
probably more than the infection, because it hurt my heart.

But, I know it's ALL for my own good.
Why?
Because He tells me so in His Word!!!

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good
of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Ain’t God good?
Oh, yes He is.

ALL the time…..
and in ALL things!

HOPE everybody has a Terrific Thursday!!!

Breathing in Grace,

  6. Deb, I am SO happy you saw the doctor and feel so much better. Yes, to that shot!! I've had it myself for a nasty UTI and it is amazing. As a matter of fact, whenever the doctor says I need an antibiotic, I ASK now if I can have a shot to get it in my system faster. Most of the time, I get one. When I was little, we always got a shot of penicillin for what ailed us. Now they just want us to pop pills. Off that soapbox. I'm so glad you feel better now!! God IS good all the time!
