{ See the JOY }

Our home is close to 40 years old so it's very dated but it's ours. If my 'style' has a name, it'd probably be called eclectic (or junky) 😊 When I walked into the living room to sit down with my coffee I had to try to capture a little snippet that made me happy.....

a blooming cactus, a vine I've managed to keep alive for 7.5 years that was sent in a dish garden when my Mamaw passed away, a macrame owl my sister-in-love made for me, "my" comfy little rocker from the 70's that I got at a thrift store for $15, the reflection of the Christmas tree in a cabinet full of owls and nativities, a nativity sitting on top of it that my sweet daughter brought me from Uganda when they went and got our granddaughter, an antique sewing basket my niece-in-love gave me after her Grandmother passed away, and heavenly sunshine pouring through the windows!

I'm so very blessed!

What about you?

What "little things" bring you joy on this cold, sunshiny Saturday?

  1. That looks so homey and welcoming. I would LOVE to visit your "eclectic" home. I think we are kindred spirits...my house is full of such memories...and thinking about moving is getting harder as the days go by. So many memories...hard to part with a single thing...Enjoy your lovely home with all of its precious memories and "stuff". I know it is a home filled with much love.

  3. What a pretty setting! It would make me happy too! We had friends over for dinner tonight and dining with them and then talking for another two hours afterwards made me very happy tonight!

  8. Your home decorating sounds very much like mine. I love to surround myself with things that make me smile and have lovely memories. When I greatly downsized stuff for my move to TN, I got rid of a lot of stuff I had just accumulated. What is left is what makes me smile. Have a blessed day.
