{ Surviving "the Rona" }

I know COVID-19 is real and nothing to laugh about, but I still NEED to find all the FUNNY in my life that I can! My Daddy had a sense of humor, although he seemed to tell the same joke to me over and over and I HAD to laugh because, well he was my Daddy and I LOVED him to pieces and wanted to make him happy (maybe that was the beginning of my people pleaser issues?!? hmmm) Any-whoobs - that's how I'm coping with "the Rona", as I like to refer to it. And,  PLEASE don't tell Dr. Fauci that I'm finding things about it to laugh at because he's a tad TOO serious, but I know that's his job and I do appreciate him and Deborah (kinda like her name😊)

I've crocheted and ate and cleaned and ate and worked outside and napped and ate....and did I mention that maybe I've eaten a tad too much?!?!? (there's NOTHING funny at all about that part) I've done things that I NEVER even dreamed about doing, like having groceries delivered to the house, or doing grocery pick-up. What did we even do before online ordering, which might be a tad too convenient during a lockdown, isolation, quarantine, whatever we choose to call it, especially if you have Amazon Prime!  I've learned to value friendship much more and HOPE my friends know that when this is over and we can touch once again, you're in for the HUG of a lifetime! I've missed my grandkids and learned just how much even an elbow bump can fill my heart. I've come to appreciate technology and social media and funny memes and comedians. Although I'm retired,  this downtime has helped me to not be so antsy, feeling like I was on a schedule - I'm learning to relax a tad....just a tad, mind you!  And, devotions and Bible reading aren't as rushed to "get 'er done" as they once were. I'm appreciating so much all the time families are spending with one another and posting their pics on Facebook and Instagram - that my son-in-law is home with our grands and our daughter and how much fun they're having together. There's less pollution because there are fewer cars on the road and factories in operation. There is so much bad happening in our world - in our country - we're living in a time that none of us would have ever thought possible, that a deadly 'plague' would affect ALL of us in this way.  But, this definitely didn't catch God off guard. He's not surprised one bit. I hope this is giving each of us a time to reflect on our faith and what we value most!

So....what ways are you finding to cope during this pandemic sweeping the world?

    1. Ms. Ann... you've gotta be a Saint. I'm ashamed to say that I've never prayed for a solid 2 hours. πŸ˜” That's amazing!

  3. Great to read something! I am staying at home. Only out for a walk on my own. We wash our hands a lot. We eat healthy and try to get enough sleep. The doctors in Europe say vitamin D3 is important. I read more than usual. But sometimes I worry. That's why I study the Bible more.

    1. I've gotta start walking again. I'm trying to do the other things you mentioned, too. I think all of us worry, not just about getting sick, but the long term effects on the economy, jobs, etc. There are some things I hope don't return to 'normal'! πŸ’œ

  4. I actually like the name "Rona" better than "Corona". LOL! "I may need a CORONA if this keeps up! And you know I am teasing....but gotta have a little laughter don't we? Lord knows my prayer life has surely seemed on overload lately. Love you lady and stay safe. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    1. Yes... lots of prayers being said... hopefully this will turn souls back to the Lord and cause others to seek Him! πŸ’œ

  5. Hmm...well...I know I probably said something similar to you on FB...but here goes...it has stopped being funny. 40 something days now in "house arrest", now the governor is ordering EVERYONE to wear masks (umm, no, I will not comply), and talking J-U-L-Y to reopen...its not funny anymore. EVERYTHING is closed...and folks can't live like this much longer.

    I think the Conley's will be making changes once states start opening up. I have job feelers from Maine to TN. We shall stay in prayer during this time...it is what it is...and I hope I don't sound so mean, nasty etc...never in a million years did I think this would happen.

    1. Oh, Linda... You've shed an entirely different light on this situation. We're no where near in the middle of it like you are and living such a life of restrictions! Hopefully you won't have to endure till July under those conditions. Come to Tennessee! πŸ’œπŸ˜˜

  6. I have been making a few masks and hats for some of the ladies at a doctor's office and realize why my sewing machine hasn't seen the light of day in years! I would have tried to fly if I thought it would help keep even a few people safe from this virus so sewing a bit was the least I could do, I didn't make 100's so nope I'm not superwoman or anything! I am also not a seamstress and never want to be. When/if I sew again I want it to be because it is for something fun and not because it is needed.

    1. I was going to make some masks but had no elastic and couldn't find any. I admire you for doing that for the doctor's office... I know it's appreciated! Take care, sweet Friend! πŸ’œ

  7. I like your nickname for the virus! Rona it is! I am resting quietly in the knowledge that our Lord and Savior has all of this under control. When I feel a bit antsy, I have to give it to Him. Amen!

    1. Resting quietly... such a peaceful state of mind to be in! I'm not sure I've experienced that in quite some time. God's been trying to get through to me about Fath and Trust! πŸ’œ

  8. Really, not too much has changed for us, except we can't go out to eat and we can't go to church and visit with our friends. Other than that, we still go to the local grocery store as needed, but not to Walmart anymore. We still take a walk every day. I've spoken with a few more people on the phone than before. That is one way to hear some friendly voices instead of just reading about them on Facebook, etc. Being retired, we are pretty much used to being at home a lot. The biggest thing is missing church. Online church just isn't the same at all. I miss the hugs.

    1. All the things you're missing are the same for me. Whether we realize it or not, I think they're causing stress... well, I know they are for me. πŸ˜”

  9. I think you covered it all...just had a new swing delivered (yes, online ordering) and now I can swing in the front yard and at least watch the world go by, even if I can't join in. Life is still good, although I'm missing family hugs more than I can say. {{sigh}}
