{ Marvelous Monday }

This is a modified excerpt from a book I just read that stood out and made me think .....

"Which is better - to be blind and optimistic—to wear rose-colored glasses and allow yourself to be vulnerable—or to be realistic and cynical? To be prepared for someone to disappoint you? To have your guard up and not be taken by surprise? Being an optimist doesn’t make you blind. A cynic can be blind too—in even worse ways. A cynic can miss out on something wonderful because they only see the dark side of it, so they steer away from a good thing because they expect it to go wrong eventually."

~ A Curve in the Road - Julianne MacLean ~

Want to share your thoughts on the statement?

Are you an optimist or a cynic?

I think I'm a bit of both and maybe we all are. I try to give the "benefit of the doubt", to show grace, to almost everybody, until I repeatedly witness their true colors. The cynicism comes to light because I do seem to have a lack of trust in folks.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

In the meantime......

{ Dear Friend..... }

I'm so enjoying doing the study Fit For My King with my sweet Friend, Ms. Barb.  I'm gleaning so much more reading it through and jotting down notes the second time than I  did the first go-round.  It's so important in everything that we do in this life to have an accountability partner.  Left on our own, lots of excuses will be made to just give up or take a day off or whatever we tell ourselves at any given moment.  As I was reading yesterday's devotional, this verse of scripture stood out to me.  I looked it up in the NLT and loved how it was worded in that version because it used the word "friend".

This is my prayer for each and every person who visits my blog, leaves a sweet comment here or on Facebook, sends me a personal e-mail, whatever you do that brings a word of encouragement to my heart and soul.

I sincerely HOPE you have a Marvelous Monday chock full of blessings!
