The Blood of Jesus

Many years ago I started donating blood to Medic. Somewhere along the way, Pappy started giving, instead of me...I think because they came to where he worked and it was more convenient for him. Well, we've come full circle. Pappy can no longer give...so...it's up to me again!!! If any of you donate blood, you know all the questions you have to answer up front, along with the blood pressure check and the temperature check and the heart rate check. I think all of that part takes more time than the actual donation of blood. And, to me, the worst part about them actually taking your blood is the tourniquet...that thing hurts!!!

You're probably asking what does this have to do with anything. Well...the only way that I know to write is to relate things to my own life and what's going on with me, or my family. Of course you have to know what I'm leading up to...the shed blood of Jesus. The only thing that I sacrificed by donating blood was a little bit of my time...and a little bit of pain...okay more pain than I wanted to feel...but Jesus sacrificed His life for me...
He shed His innocent blood for me.
Oh, what a marvelous Savior we serve!!!

These verses speak for themselves:

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28

And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. Matthew 27:6

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Matthew 27:24

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. John 6:53

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. John 19:34

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. I Corinthians 11:25

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:12

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Revelation 1:5

In His Love...and with mine!!!
