It's Thursday!!!

1 Kings 8:28 (NLT)
Nevertheless, listen to my prayer and my plea, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is making to you today.

It seems like Thursday rolls around so quickly....
it seems like my life is rolling away rather quickly!!!

Anyway...it's time for prayer requests and praises.
I appreciate everybody sending me your e-mails.
Hopefully, over time, more and more people will respond.

1. Pastor Dallas - we were told at church last night that he got to come home yesterday afternoon, so he must be doing extremely well. He was supposed to have a 3-4 day hospital stay, but has only been in the hospital since Monday. Please continue to pray for his recovery and that he will SLOW DOWN!!! For those of you who know him, that won't be an easy task for him.
He runs full throttle most of the time!!!
I want to also include a praise concerning Pastor Dallas....thank you, dear Lord, that the tumor wasn't cancer!!!

2. My sister-in-law Betty - please continue to pray for her. She will be having a biopsy on her thyroid next Friday. She also has some heart health problems. Please, please keep her in your prayers that God will give her peace in everything going on in her life. She is very precious to us!!!

3. Richard Price - a friend of our nephew - I included him in my list last Thursday. He has colon cancer and the doctor has given him some options. He has to make his decision by this Friday. Please pray for him that he will allow God to guide him in making this decision and that God will also give him peace and comfort...not just physically, but emotionally...and also spiritually.

4. Earl and Bonnie Keck - Earl's Mother passed away last Saturday. Having just gone thru this ourselves, we have an understanding of what they are going thru. Please pray for this family as they grieve for their loss and that God will comfort them as only He can do!!!

5. Ms. Norma - she had a lung transplant about 5 years ago and still has to travel back to Vanderbilt for follow-up testing. Please pray that her body will never reject this transplant and that God will continue to be with her during this struggle. Also a praise - some testing she had done about a month ago - everything came back NEGATIVE!!! Praise your name, Lord!!!

6. This prayer request came from a friend of mine. A lady she works with knows the family where suicide took the life of a 15 year old. I don't know all the details, but I cannot even begin to think what this family has to be going thru. I had a cousin who committed suicide several years ago, and we are left with so many questions...the main one being "why???". Please pray for this family. I don't even know what to ask you to pray for....but, God knows what they need.

7. Eli Joshua Bean - I had baby Eli on our prayer list last week. He underwent the surgery because he was born without an esophagus. From what the doctor's can tell so far, it went well, but they won't know for sure for a while. He is being kept in a medically induced coma for about 3-4 days. The family is optimistic and says that everything looks good so far. Please continue to pray for this family. It touches my heart to hear about precious little babies being sick...especially since we have 2 precious little grandsons of our own!!!

8. John Crabbe - Ms. Marenda requested prayer for him last week because he had gallbladder surgery and had lots of gallstones, and also very high blood pressure. She told me that he has gone back home to New York and cancelled his meetings for the next 3 months to give himself time to heal. Please keep him in your prayers. So many times it is so hard for a "man of God" to slow down...take it easy...think of himself!!!

9. Brother Steve - this gentleman goes to Ms. Marenda's church. He has been in the hospital with numbness in his arm and it is possibly his heart, or a stroke, because these health issues run in his family. Please keep him in your prayers.

10. Ms. Shari - please continue to pray for her regarding a decision she has to make regarding her future. I can see God doing a wonderful work in her. Thank you, dear Lord, for loving us and wanting only the best for us!!!

11. Cathy Rahman - Ms. Cathy has had breast cancer, but now has cancer in her back. She struggles a lot with pain. Pappy works with her husband and, although I have never met either of them personally, I feel like I know them. Please, please pray for this precious couple. He misses a lot of work having to be with her, taking her to doctor visits, radiation treatments, etc. God has blessed most of us who read this blog with good health. I know that I too often take that for granted. Please keep Ms. Cathy and Mikail in your prayers!!!

Within the last month we have experienced shootings in a local church and a local school. I know that we ask "What is this world coming to?". When I was growing up, I heard about shootings in places like New York, California, Detroit...but not in Knoxville, TN. Also, there have been a lot of thief and break-ins in areas close to us in the past few weeks. I'm not sure what to ask for here....but, I know that if these people who commit these murders and are stealing what doesn't belong to them...if they had Jesus in their hearts...the crime rate would go way down!!! So, that is my prayer...I want to pray that everybody who doesn't know the Lord will be given the opportunity, before it's too late, to ask Jesus into their hearts.

Dear Lord...we come to you with a burden for the lost. I am so sorry that I haven't always had this burden. I thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross to save me from the punishment that I deserved for my sins...but Jesus took my sins on Himself and died in my place. Please, dear Lord, tarry your coming until we can reach out and be a light and a witness to the lost. We know that the only reason for our existence is to love You and to let You love us. I want everybody to experience Your love, Father. I don't want anybody to die in their sins and not know the love that only You can give. Also, dear Lord, please send your Holy Spirit to "finger around the heart" of those who have accepted You, but aren't living their life for You.
In Jesus' most blessed and holy name we ask this....AMEN!

In His love...and with mine!!!

  1. Thank you for your prayer list on Thursday's. I know we all have needs and request it is always good to have support from others believers to pray with you concerning situations. Where two or more are together God is in the midst of them.
