Curiosity killed the cat.....and Ray Boltz!!!

This is going to be sort of a 2-part blog today...but both are very much related to one another!!!
And...be prepared...it's long!!!!
Curiosity killed the cat!!!

This little saying is used to warn against being too inquisitive....nosey....lest one comes to harm.

Do you agree that something can be "killed" and continue to live??? Does that make sense??? Sometimes, our curiosity can get us into trouble. For instance...we can be so curious about something that we dig a little deeper and before we know it, we're in a spiral downward and wonder how we ever got there. Another for instance...alcohol and/or drugs...some people are curious and just want to see how it feels....and before they know it, they are addicted...same goes for a lot of other things in our lives...we just want a little sample of what the world has to offer...we let the devil stick his toe in the door to hold it open so he can tease us with something that looks so tempting...but is all wrong for a Christian....and before we know it, that door is swung wide open and our Christian life is "dead"...our witness is "dead"...our testimony is "dead"!!!
See what I'm getting at???

Where is this going??? It's heading to the Internet....and people being curious and thinking that just a little peek won't matter...who will ever know anyway, right??? I think this is a lot of the thinking of a lot of people...including our youth. A little over a year ago, I set up a MySpace page to show some of my crochet work (which I don't even have time to do anymore!!!). My page has always been such that it was for the glory of God....I used Christian layouts and used Bible verses, hoping to be a witness to others. I've kept up with some of the "friends" on there and even found some people that I haven't seen, or talked to, in many years. For some time now, I've been convicted of having that page...and should have deleted it as soon as that feeling came.

Here is what I'm leading to............

I am going to delete my MySpace account. I've already removed the link to it from my blog. I have felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to do so for several weeks...which is why when I ordered my new little "business" cards, I didn't include that link. If you have visited my MySpace page, I truly hope you can tell that I've tried to set it up for God's glory...but, it's time to move on. I am definitely not saying that nobody should have a page on MySpace...not at all...each of us has to let God guide us....and, this is the direction He's leading me!!! Just be sure that if you are a parent and your child has a page.....check it frequently....check it daily!!!....make sure that there is nobody "stalking" your child, or that they aren't talking with people that could have a strong...negative...influence on them. In this day and time, we need to be concerned about our youth...about each other. Also...and this is something very personal with me, but I want to share it with each of you....check yourselves occasionally...check things in your life that might be giving you that "uh-oh" feeling...know what I mean??? If you find things that you are doubtful about...or that you are doing/saying that just don't make you feel good about yourself....or something that you would never, ever want to share with your preacher, or Sunday School teacher....or, your spouse.....then do a little house cleaning. I have to do that every once in awhile....take stock in my own life and sometimes get rid of those things that aren't pleasing to God!!!

Abstain from all appearance of evil.
I Thessalonians 5:22 - KJV

And.....speaking of allowing things to creep into our lives....have you all heard about Ray Boltz? I have loved his music for many years and had a couple of his songs on my PlayList. He has "come out" and told the world that he is gay and will be living his life as a homosexual. Pappy told me about it when he got home from work, and it really upset me. I immediately removed his songs from my PlayList. Is that being judgmental of me??? Maybe it is, I don't know...it's just what I felt led to do. I'm not saying that we shouldn't love him and pray for him....remember, love the sinner, hate the sin....but I can't support his music unless he acknowledges that the homosexual lifestyle is a sin and repents and asks God for forgiveness. I found the following web-site that you might find interesting:
It just makes me so sad that somebody who wrote such wonderful heart touching songs would allow something so devastating to creep into his heart and soul. What did I say earlier about killing your testimony????.....I'm afraid this is what has happened to him. Does God still love Ray Boltz???....oh, yes He does....will God welcome him back if he confesses that what he is doing is sin???....our most kind and loving...precious heavenly Father wants nothing more!!!
So, please, please pray for Ray Boltz.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16 KJV
When God put on my heart what He wanted me to write today...the words to this little children's song kept going thru my mind:

Oh, be careful little ears, what you hear
For the Father Up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little ears what you hear.
Oh, be careful little eyes, what you see,
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little eyes what you see.

Oh, be careful little mouth, what you say,
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little mouth what you say.
Oh, be careful little hands, what you do,
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little hand what you do.
Oh, be careful little feet where you go
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little feet where you go.
Oh, be careful little mind what you think
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little mind what you think.

Oh, be careful little heart what you love
For the Father up above,
Is looking down in love,
So be careful little heart what you love.
In His Love...and with mine!!!
