Yard Sale Update

1 Kings 19:12 (KJV)
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

So....we're thru the first day of our big yard sale....and I have good news to report....but, first a little bit about why I had the sale in the first place.
I don't like to have yard sales. I don't mind going to sales...especially estate sales...I love those things!!! I usually don't make very much money when I have one of my own and they are so very much trouble...but....if God tells you to do something, then it's best you listen. Several weeks ago I felt God leading me to have this sale....now I know I have a lot of junk to get rid of...and can certainly use the extra money....but, like I've already said, I don't like all the work it takes to have it and would rather just donate it. I had some boxes of stuff that I wanted to sell to this man in our community who is a professional yard saler....and guess what????....he wouldn't buy it, saying he had no room for it....so...I spent hours going thru the stuff sorting it into piles and pricing it all!!! I think at first I was a bit upset...but the more I thought about it, I knew that God had His reason...I'm learning that quicker than I used to!!!

I told Jess this morning that I may never know why God wanted me to have the sale...but...I do know that I had a very blessed day. We saw so many people come by....most of them people I had never met before.....we were able to give some knick-knacks for some people in the nursing home....a little doll to a precious little girl named Sophia...an owl lotion bottle to another little girl. I talked with a lady about the political race (something I don't normally discuss, but she brought the subject up)...and it was evident we are on different sides of the "ticket"....but, I did share with her that I have to vote my convictions as a Christian!

And...the very best part of my day....was meeting Ms. Dee. We talked like we had known each other for years...and we just met. I found myself sharing things with her about myself and she did the same with me...concerns that we both have...how similar our thinking is....and we talked about God and prayer and, and, and !!!! It was wonderful!!! Ms. Dee...if you're reading this...thank you so much for blessing my day by stopping by...and I hope if you stop by my blog, you'll leave me a comment!!!!

And...on top of all that...God blessed me with some extra money!!!!

Boy....I'm learning....after all these years....that when He speaks with that still small voice...perk up and listen!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  1. I hope you all did good at your sale. I really enjoyed sitting around for an hour or so, talking with you and Jess, we need to do that more often! I also enjoyed getting to see Sam and Sawyer, (even thought when Sam warmed up to me, he put me to work LOL)
I've not been around them much, but I was there long enough to see that Sam is Pappy's boy and Sawyer is Nana's :-)
    love ya!
