Is it just me, or.......

Last Saturday morning, I was in Wally World and in the midst of all the marked down Halloween decorations...and candy...they were playing Christmas music. It actually depressed me... :-(
I've been seeing on several blogs that they are already putting up lots of Christmas stuff...even already decorating their Christmas trees!!! And, I actually saw a couple of television commercials for Christmas already.

Is it just me, or is Thanksgiving being overlooked....ousted....forgotten?????
I love Thanksgiving....I love the Thanksgiving decorations...turkeys and pumpkins and scarecrows. I am definitely not taking down my Thanksgiving decorations just because Halloween is over. I spoke with two of the clerks in Wally World about the Christmas music, and both of them felt the same way I do...one of the ladies said she complained about it being too early. Sometimes, I think that the only thing celebrated by the "world" as far as Thanksgiving is concerned is the after-Thanksgiving sales. I know that we should be thankful every day of our lives because each of us are so very blessed...but....since Thanksgiving is a national holiday...let's celebrate it....and not let it get totally lost between Halloween and Christmas!!!

Psalm 69:30 (KJV)
I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

I'll leave you with some of my Thanksgiving decorations.
I got this picture the day after the election. When I saw it...and really read it....the word "everything" jumped out at me and God spoke to me. In "everything" I'm to give thanks..."everything"...even those things that I don't completely understand...because I don't have to...it's not meant for me to know everything, or the future (thank goodness!!!)

I Corinthians 13:12 (NLT)
Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

These figures are actually made out of newspaper....yes, newspaper.... I couldn't believe it, either!!! I keep them out all the time, but I thought they were very fitting as Thanksgiving figures.

My fat stuffed turkey...I've had this thing for years...and years...and years!!!

And...last, but not least...well, he is kinda little...but, this is my little Pilgrim Ziggy that Pap got me a long time ago....he says, "I Love Thee"!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  2. I agree, and I've been thinking the same thing. we have 3 months right here close together, and 3 seperate Holidays, we need to take them one month at a time , one day at a time, and enjoy each and every one of them. the very next day after Halloween, they had Christmas decorations out, & I LOVE Christmas and it's a very special Holiday, but I also LOVE Thanksgiving and really look forward to it, it's always been a very special day and I've always enjoyed spending it with my family ! so I'm just gonna enjoy it the best I can, and celebrate it with family and Thank God for all my Blessings and come December 1st, I'll be thinking of Christmas :-)
    love ya lots!
