Operation Christmas Child

Most of us have probably started to think about what we're going to cook....and eat...next Thursday on Thanksgiving Day. There are many people throughout the world, including children, who will go hungry on that day...and every day, including Christmas. They won't be able to sit down at a table full of food in a warm home wearing warm clothes and fellowship with their families.

I know most of you are familiar with Operation Christmas Child.
For more information, please go the the web-site,
Samaritan's Purse.
This is the collection week for the shoe boxes packed for needy children. It's not too late to pack a shoe box...and what fun it is!!! Our church was blessed to have packaged eighty-five boxes this year. We delivered them to The Baptist Center in Sevierville yesterday afternoon, and the room where we put ours was full of tables...and the tables were full of boxes!!!
What a sight!!
The most wonderful part, was knowing that with each of those boxes, a life will be touched. We never know what impact just packaging a shoebox for a needy child will have.
Just watch the following video and you'll understand what I mean.

So...if you're unable to share in this ministry by packaging a shoebox this year...you can still help.
Pray for everybody involved.
Pray that lives will be touched by this small token of love shown to a needy child. Pray that families will be influenced by the love shown...
....and...most importantly of all...
pray that precious souls will come to know Jesus!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!

  1. My emotion are so moved this morning...My husband and I have always been used in other peoples lifes to help them out... Even when we were in Michigan we help others out... I think God just gave my husband and myself the passion in life always to help others... Maybe it was him growing up in a pastor home that has made him so passionate for the needs of others.. I know that God will bless everytime any of else help the less fortunate...Their is no greater joy in life than seeing one come to our Lord and Savior..To see the eyes of that little one you have helped or that family you helped out with a bag of groceries... I can remember taking groceries to more than one family since we have been married or buying a toy or some clothes for a child... It just blesses my heart when I do something that is honoring to God's word... It is more blessed to give than to receive.

  2. thats great, 85 boxes, WOW!
at my work this year, we decided to bring our own covered dishes for Christmas Dinner and take the money that they normally would spend on it, and buy gifts for kids from the Angel Tree. They said our dinner usually costs around $2500-$3000, so I think we can make a lot of kids happy this year.
Like your friend mentioned above, it's always better to give than to receive!!
    love ya!
