Love means......

"Love means never having to say you're sorry."
Remember that statement that Ali MacGraw made in the 1970 movie "Love Story"?
I've always thought that statement was just ridiculous!!!
I'm not even sure in what context she meant it...but, I personally don't think that it applies in any situation.
Have you ever had to tell somebody that you're sorry???
Was it easy???
Did you resent having to do it???
Did you think that if you say you're sorry that meant that the other person was totally right and you're totally wrong???
Lots of questions....no simple answers!!!
This verse of scripture comes to mind when I think about being "sorry" for something that you did, or said:
Matthew 5:9 (KJV)
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
I was in a situation last week that required me and my friend to both say "I'm sorry". Was it easy??? I'm going to have to say.....not really.....not on my part, anyway. None of us want to admit that we're in the wrong, but isn't that better than letting something sit and stew and brew and mold and mildew and become stagnant. Our friendship meant much more to me than that.....because this lady has prayed for me, prayed with me, confided in me, and vice-versa!!!
So....we fixed it!!!
Here's what this post is for....if you have anybody in your life and you just wish something that came between the two of you had never happened, or words had never been said....forgive them....ask them to forgive you....life is sooooo short.
I'm getting older
and I'm realizing this more and more every day. What good is it going to do any of us if we harbor ill feelings toward one another?
It could be between you and a friend....or, you and your spouse....or, you and your Mom, Dad, brother, sister, son, daughter....it doesn't matter....don't let time keep coming between the problem and the solution!!!
Love one another....love is what we're supposed to do....love, as Jesus loves....will we ever be able to do that totally...completely....with our entire hearts and beings??? No....because we're human....and He knows that. But....we still need to do all we can to help each other, and to not let anything come between us that can hinder our witness...hinder our testimony....hinder our friendships!!!
In His Love...and with mine!!!

Kind words are like honey—
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
