An obligation

Do you ever feel obligated?  Know what I mean?
For instance....maybe somebody d0es something for you....do you feel obligated to do something for them in return?
I think that's probably normal human behavior.
I feel obligated to you all....my readers.  I don't  get a lot of comments left on my posts each day....and I don't have a great big number of followers like a lot of bloggers....but, I still feel an obligation to continue writing for the Lord....because....just when I'm about to give it up...to throw in the towel....I get a nudge from the Lord and I know that I need to continue keeping on keeping on.  My promping this time....was meeting a sweet young lady at Dollar General Store last Saturday night....who recognized me from the picture on my blog....and introduced herself to me and let me know that she reads my blog each morning!!!

Here's one definition that I found for obligation:
A requirement to take some course of action, whether legal or moral

The part of the definition that stands out like a neon sign to me....is the word....
....REQUIREMENT!!!
The last part of Luke 12:48 (NLT) pretty much sums it up:
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

I feel like I've been "given much".  I've been blessed way beyond what I've ever deserved.  The most valuable gift that I'll ever receive is the gift of salvation that Jesus brought to me with His death on the cross....because when He was nailed to that tree....all my sins were nailed to it, too!
So...if the very least that I'll ever do for my Jesus....is write my little blog for Him....to share Him with you all, my readers....to let you know my faults and shortcomings and how....thru His help....I'm able to overcome and get thru....then....I'll sincerely try to live up to my obligation!!!

The following verses of scripture were Paul's instruction to young Timothy....but....don't you think....that each of us....no matter our age....and especially us older Christians who are more established in our faith....should take these words to our own heart?

1 Timothy 4:11-16 (NLT)
Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
