Resolutions for 2010

The more I thought about my post yesterday concerning "epiphany"  the more things that came to mind!
You know how I described it as an "ah-hah" moment....I think it can also be an "uh-oh" feeling, too!!!
Here's what I'm getting at:
If something doesn't feel right....then don't do it!!!

I've had some reservations about some things in my own life in the past year....and I've been wrong about some things and had to go back and do some "d0-overs".....but I'm learning that if you have that "uh-oh" feeling.....that little uneasy feeling that you get in your chest....or down in the pit of your tummy....then....run....head the other way....don't do it...don't say it....don't get involved!!!

Making sense?!?!?!
I hope so!!!

So...with this in mind....let's see how it applies to making resolutions.....New Years' resolutions!

Do you make 'em?
Do you keep 'em?

Many years ago I would make several resolutions.....write them down.....then discover the list some time later on in  the year and realize that most all of them had been broken....probably very early on in the year!!!
I actually read these statistics earlier this week:

80% of American's quit their New Years' Resolution by the end of week 1

98% of American's quit their New Years' Resolution by the end of week 4

So....with that in mind....why even make 'em if we're not gonna keep 'em?!?!?
Good question, huh???

But....I'm gonna make a list of some of the resolutions that I'm making for the 2010...and hope that I can keep them....I'll check back around June and see how I'm doin'!!!

1.  Does everybody begin their list with "loose weight"?
Well...I want to begin mine with...."get healthier"....and if loosing weight is part of that....then I hope that is an added benefit.  I figured it up one day this week....and I've been overweight....let's see....most all of my life!!!  Sometime I'll dig out the pic of me at 5...and let you see that I'm not joking!!  Like I've shared with y'all before....even when I was thin....I still had a weight problem.  So....for 2010....I want to be healthy.....healthier....and in being healty(ier)...I also want to have a healthy attitude about how I look....and to try to take better care of my "temple"!

2.  Speaking of attitude.....
.....I think mine needs adjusting....in several different areas!!!  I want to have a better attitude about myself....but also about things that happen to me....to not take life so seriously....to be able to smile more and enjoy this blessed life that God has given me!!

3.  Be kind.
I heard a lady say yesterday that her New Years' resolution was to be kind.  I  thought it was kinda odd...but...I think we can all be kinder....try to be more understanding.  Remember one of my favorite mottos:
"Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle"!

4.  Trust my instincts more.
I shared this thought with my buddy this week....about how a former pastor we had talked about woman's intuition....and how he was about the only man I know that admitted that it even exists!!!  So....when I get that "uh-oh" feeling about anything in the future....I'm gonna think...nope....I'm gonna pray more about it....and see just what God is leading me to do....or not to do!!!

5.  Pray.....pray.....pray!!!
I definitely want to improve my prayer life.
I know that it could be so much better!!!

6.  Listen more.....talk less!!!
I have another blog called Wise Old Owl....and that's the premise of that blog.....that it takes wisdom to just watch....and listen....and learn....and KEEP MOUTH SHUT....or at least...."engage brain before mouth"!!!

7.  I'm gonna stop at 7....because 7 is the perfect number!!!
So...my #7....is gonna be....to read my Bible more.
I do a lot of research on line for my blog...and like I've shared with y'all before, I use Bible Gateway almost daily to look up scripture....and to see where  I can find certain words in the Bible.
Bible Gateway has a program to

So...won't you join me?
Together...let's read the Bible thru in the year 2010....from Genesis to Revelation.  According to Bible Gateway, it only takes about 15 minutes a day.
Let me know if you're gonna do it, too....and maybe we can do a weekly post about it!!!

Happy New Year, my dear blog readers!!!

2 Corinthians 5:17

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
