Frivolous Friday

Today you're gonna get a mish-mash of things!!!
Why?
Because I'm one tired puppy!!!

********************
First of all....thanks to all of you who left me such sweet comments wishing us a "Happy Anniversary".
You gals are so precious to me!!!!

Pappy and I had a very nice day.
We went to Red Lobster for lunch.....then, spent a few hours searching for a new fridge (ours has been on the blink for m-o-n-t-h-s)....and Pappy finally decided that it's not fixable....won't that make a nice anniversary gift?!?!
Then....we came home and planted our garden.....okay, I planted the garden....but Pappy spent hours tilling it up!!!
In the middle of covering up rows of beans and corn....I received a phone call and had to take a bit of a break to go help out a lady....then, I came back home and set out creeping phlox that my Mom gave me.
PHEW.....I'm tired just typing this....and I even started my morning off with an hour walk!!!

********************

See why I can't understand why the weight won't come off....and why I get so discouraged?
 If there's a metabolism scale of 1 to 10.....then, I'm thinkin' I register about a minus 89!!!!

********************

Speaking of weight loss....if any of you are interested, Ms. Donna of Comin' Home has started a blog called Gettin' Thin Together.  If you would like to join, head over and see Ms. Donna and request an invite!!!
I think there are about 8 of us taking the weight loss journey together....and guess who's the oldest?!?!?

********************

Don't tell Jess I told you this....but.....Big Brother's class at Mother's Day Out was making Mother's Day cards.....and when he was asked what he loved about his Momma....he said because she lets him go to Nannie and Pappy's house.
Guess who got the big head over that remark?!?!?!

********************
I went to see my Mamaw yesterday....and she actually knew who I was.  But.....guess what the first thing she asked me was?
How's Pappy (of course she  called him by his name)!!!
I was so thrilled that she knew who I was.....but then a little air went out of my balloon when she was more concerned about Jack!!!
Please know I'm just kidding.....we both love her dearly.....she just tickles me when it comes to her feelings for the males in our family!!!

********************

Since a lot of us are on a "diet"......and you know how I love acrostics.....here's one I came up with:

D - dedicated to a commitment
I  - involving healthier eating and
E - encouraging others
T - to join along!!!

I know it's a little corny....but that's exactly what I want this "diet" to be.....not really a diet, but a commitment that we make to each other....and to ourselves....and to God....to take better care of our bodies....our "temple"!!!

********************

And....finally.....here's a WW recipe that I haven't made in quite a while.  I've eaten it made with lime and also with raspberry....and both are very good!!!
I don't know why you couldn't make it with any flavor combination, though.
How about orange....or strawberry?!?!?

SERVES 8 (3 WW points per serving)

Ingredients
1 reduced fat graham cracker crust
1 small package sugar-free lime gelatin
1/4 cup boiling water
1 (8 ounce) container fat-free whipped topping
2 (6 ounce) key lime pie yogurt

Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
Stir in yogurt with wire whisk.
Fold in whipped topping with wooden spoon.
Spread in crust.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Happy Friday, Everybody!!!

Blessings to you!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  5. Hi Deb, I took off the day yesterday...working with a guy on a new look for my blog. Happy Anniversary!! Sorry about the weight. I gained a little back..I think it's a water issue. But I also had a little talk about 'waiting' on hunger.

Sigh.. Better to wait on the Lord, I think while I'm at it. :o)

Good for you going on a walk!

  6. I have made it with strawberry and people at work loved it but I am in a tangy phase and love lime best right now.
