30 Days of Truth - Week #1

I discovered the 30 Days of Truth at Finally Finding Me....and knew immediately that I wanted to do it, too!!!   I'm gonna do it a little differently, though....and post a different "truth" one day each week....for the next 30 weeks....probably on Tuesday!!

Week #1 - Something you hate about yourself.

First of all....I don't like the word "hate".   I use it myself....but NEVER to describe how I feel  about a person.  When I use the word, it's in a way that it can be interchanged with "sorry"....i.e., "I hate that your sick"....instead of just saying, "I'm sorry you don't feel well."
But...I can't honestly say that I've never used the word to describe something about myself!

With that being said....and probably as clear as mud (sorry)....there is nothing that I actually hate about myself.  There are several things that I don't necessarily like about "me", though.  After giving it some thought....I think the one thing that I dislike the most....is that I get offended too easily and often think that people are "out to get me"....when I'm probably the least of their worries!!!
I've shared before that my Dad used to tell me that I carried my feelings around on my shoulder just daring somebody to knock 'em off!!!

So that has to be what I dislike about myself the most.
(I bet you all thought I was gonna say my weight, huh?!?!)

Proverbs 19:11 (NIV)
A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  3. That's a wonderful way to 'examine ourselves daily' Deb. Great idea! I know we all have things we dislike about ourselves. I love what a good friend once told me. God allowed my particular 'brand of the flesh' to keep me dependent on him. His strength is made perfect in our weakness as I'm certain you know. :o) Thanks for being transparent.

    You are such an encourager!

  5. Hi! I am a new follower from Tuesday's blog hops. Glad I came across your blog. I do this too. It is more common than we realize. My friend tells me "If you realized how infrequently people thought about you, you wouldn't care what they thought." In other words, people are so busy thinking about their own lives to be fussing with "getting" me I will be back. Blessings...

  6. Love this! I think I may have to do it myself. Love your playlist also. You have a great choice in music. Can you tell me something though... I've tried to add one to mine and can't get it to auto start. I've clicked the auto start also with no luck. Thanks for checking out my rag wreath over at A Little Bit of Everything!. I'm you're newest follower.
