Insanity

A  couple of times lately I've read the following statement....

  "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

Since God chose to place that phrase before me more than once....well, I figured maybe I should pay attention to what He was trying to tell me!!!

So....I started thinking of how many things in my life do I continue to do....and even complain about....but don't do anything that's within my power to change!!!  I won't bore y'all with the several things that God shined His light on that I need to work on....but as I walked one morning this week, this poem came to mind....and I think it goes along with the definition of "insanity"....

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

  2. Deb, Thanks for the sweet comment about my new grandbaby and about me. I didn't know there was more to the poem than that. I've said it over and over in my life. The first few lines were enough for me. But now I want to print the whole thing!

    Thanks for sharing this with us.

    You are a dear!

  6. What a great reminder. We should all change what we need to in our lives. After all, nothing is impossible with God.

  9. I agree. You should take the time to figure out if you are doing the same things over and over again. Because it could be preventing you from moving forward to better things. Thanks for sharing this.
