Mind your own business!

Did you realize that "mind your own business" is a command that is given to us in scripture?  Maybe I did....sorta, kinda....but really hadn't thought a lot about it until our daughter brought it to my attention a few weeks ago when she shared these favorite verses of hers with me....

I Thessalonians 4:11-12
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody!

The very next day....I was going thru a tote full of things that she had made thru the years and I came across a piece of construction paper with her hands drawn around that she had made in Sunday school when she was just a little girl....
....and written across the top was....
"Work with your hands"- I Thess 4:11

When things like this happen in my life....I know that God is definitely trying His best to get a point across to meDid I understand what He was trying to tell me at the time?  YES....I sure did.  And, to make sure that I was listening....He led me to a favorite blog and this quote was shared that day....

There comes a time in life when you walk away from all the drama and the people that create it.  You surround yourself with people that make you laugh, that forget the bad, and focus on the good.
So....love the people that treat you right and pray for the ones that don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy.
Falling down is a part of life....
....getting back up is living!!

My prayer for you today is that you are able to reach a point where you can be content in leading a quiet life....minding your own business....and allowing God to fight your battles!!  And....when you fall down....because that is going to happen to all of us....that you allow our precious Lord and Savior to reach down and help you back up....dust you off....and set your steps back on the right path!!!

Happy Thursday, sweet readers!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Wow, I never really noticed that the verse made a point of that. That's what happens when you read 'through' the scriptures, without really 'reading' them.

    Thank for sharing!
