Friday Food for Thought!!!

Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!
And....I'm not just saying that because it's Friday!!!
;-)

Do you consider being happy and being full of joy one and the same?

Well...they're not!!!

Pappy and I have had a pretty rough couple of weeks.  My car died....I mean literally....she's DEAD....as in not running...won't even crank....is in pieces and parts....dead!!
And, we had a big water leak.
But....there's a positive side to everything.
Because of the leak, I threw away a bunch of stuff, and took some other things to the thrift store that would probably still be cluttering the cabinet underneath my sink.  And, as for the car....
....well, right now we're saving on gas and car insurance!!!
So....yes, there's always a bright side!!!

Wednesday morning, as I listened to one of my favorite songs, Fernando Ortega's "Give Me Jesus"....I had tears of "joy" streaming down my cheeks.  Now, to the outside world, it would appear that I was very unhappy....but to those of you who know JESUS....then you completely understand that you can have things going on in your life that sometimes make you a little less than happy....and still be so full of joy, that you think you're gonna burst!!!

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

So....what about you....
what's happened to you this week that was a reminder of your "joy"?

HOPE you have a fantastic Friday, Sweet Reader!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. Good Friday Morning Deb!
It has been a most stressful week. I have been up and down with my victory. I was down when I would look at the circumstances < stress elements> and dwell upon their power and become discouraged ...but the Word instructs me to Look up for my redemption draweth nigh ...it is when I looked up that I had the victory...I feel God calling me as He did Peter, out of the boat ...and I must not look at the raging storm surrounding me...but keep my eyes upon Jesus ...
Learning to deny myself the opportunity to "feel sorry for self" is an ongoing fleshly battle.....learning to be as Paul and Silas, Joseph, the 3 Hebrew children,.....Victory has been gained through the blood shed of our Saviour!

  3. Oh I have to say that this week was a challenge, I needed to get tires on one of my cars and they are a little more expensive the ordinary tires because they are low profile, we were going to sell this car due to its age, but after driving with those new tires, I am thinking, maybe we will keep it after all!

I had 2 migraines and they were both on days that I worked out, so we will see what is up with that, and we are having some major family issues, but in spite of it all I know that the Lord is in charge of it all, and that is a good feeling.

Thanks for this nice post :)

  4. Deb, I've shed those tears of joy listening to that VERY song many times!

You have definitely had some disappointing circumstances this week but have found there is "NO Disappointment in Jesus". (That was the title of a song I used to sing when I was in a trio years and years ago! "There's No Disappointment in Jesus"!

You know this already, but "My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus".

  6. I agree! My dad and I were discussing the current state of affairs, and he said "It can be so depressing. I don't know how people without the Joy of the Lord can continue...where is their hope?!"

  7. Very good. My niece and her husband came and stayed with us. He is starting law school on Monday about an hour away from us. I am so glad to have them close. My niece is having a baby in March.
