Happy Halloween!!!

I'm not really a big proponent of Halloween.
One of the reasons that I'll share is that Halloween gets much more attention, especially in retail....than, our more important holiday.....
....Thanksgiving!!!

But....regardless of how I feel....
....Halloween is still celebrated.
(I was truly offended that no one asked my opinion!!! ;-)
ha! ha!

Does this mean that I'm the Halloween Scrooge and don't give out candy....
or, that I don't go a bit overboard in buying for the GRANDsons?
Absolutely not!
(not that we really need an excuse when it comes to our GRAND's!!)

The precious little trick-or-treaters  who come to our door get a coupon for a free Frosty from Wendy's.
Leave it to a chocoholic (me)....and an ice cream-o-holic (Pappy).....to make the choice of ice cream coupons....
(they also get a tract about accepting Jesus into their hearts....
....a Tootsie Roll Pop....
....and some Smarties!!!)

So....in honor of Halloween....and my love of CHOCOLATE....
....I have to share with y'all this Halloween acrostic by Gordon James.

Having a craving for chocolate so sweet
A thin piece of chocolate with nuts would be neat!
Loving that feeling of chocolate on lips
Lips lightly smeared with some chocolate-y chips!
Oh for a chocolate-y chunk or a square!
What? Did you say you've some chocolate to spare?
Even now my mouth waters for chocolate cake
Er, maybe some chocolate-y cocoa to make.
Now I can't stand it, I have to go now....

....and get me some HALLOWEEN CHOCOLATE right now!!!

HOPE your Halloween is full of lots of sweet treats....

....especially, chocolate ones!!!

;-)
In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Hi Deb,

Your post, has given me food for thought (no pun intended) I don't like Halloween at all and will not have anything to do with it. But maybe I should concentrate on the chocolate side and hand out tracts about Jesus. After all as was once said *Why should the devil, have all the good music" (just a thought that popped into my head).

God Bless, Thank you for your encouraging comment on my blog. Hugs Nita.

  2. :) I agree with Nita, I do not celebrate Halloween in any form or fashion...but I will as Nita, and pass out tracts of Salvation through Jesus Christ...good ideal Nita! :)

Tomorrow is the first day of November .... the month of Thanksgiving ...I choose to see it as a month set apart to express my heart of thanksgiving for all things in and of HIM
