Good Sense!!!

During my morning devotions recently, I asked God to do my thinking for me.  That might sound like a crazy request....but with so much going on....and kinda feeling like I'm being pulled in several different directions....I just haven't been thinking straight.  Several times since then, I've had the "good sense" to make some decisions that I know were only brought on by His prompting.  Then, last night, as I was researching some scripture for an entirely different subject, I came across this verse in Psalms.....

Psalm 119:37 (NLT)
You made me; you created me.
Now give me the sense to follow your commands.

Needless to say....a big smile came across my face!!!

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes....He most certainly is!!!

HOPE you have a "thoughtful" Thursday,
Sweet Reader!!!
;-)

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. What a wonderful translation of that verse! And re. thinking straight....I kind of know the feeling.

Lately I've become very aware of the need to "take every thought captive to obey Christ" or as The Message says,"fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5)

...with special notice of EVERY! I think the enemy of our souls is working overtime to keep me scattered in thought and action. But I'm "on to" him! And God is greater!

  2. I have been in the same place lately...God has been so faithful to wake me up with songs, thoughts, and truths to share...my Psalms 119:37 reads: Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way." wow is that not good ...any thought of my ownself is but vanity...that I hold precious as "mine thought" . reveal to me thy ways of LORD is my prayer with you this morning Deb!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. Beautiful Deb! I have to say that I've warmed up to more modern translations over the last few years. It's great to 'hear' God's word in plain english isn't it? Great verse!
