The Blame Game!!!

I've gained some weight that I'm really trying to get rid of.
I blame Skippy Natural Peanut Butter Spread with Honey!!
I absolutely this stuff!!!

But in all actuality....this is not what caused my weight gain.
Nobody force fed it to me....
....nobody held a gun to my head with threats of violence if I didn't devour the entire jar!!!
NOPE....the person to blame was just plain ole' me!!!

My love of this best thing I ever tasted....well, other than chocolate.....reminds me of how often we blame others for things that go wrong in our lives.   We often have no control over what happens to us....but we do have control over how we respond.   Also, there comes a time in our lives when we can't continue to blame others for our mistakes....our sins....we have to take responsibility for them ourselves!!!  If there's someone in our life who gives us an "uh-oh" feeling.....well, maybe it's the Holy Spirit giving us discernment to walk away....back off....or, sometimes even  RUN!!!!
(remember, that's what Joseph had to do to get away from Potiphar's wife!!)

I've read a lot of different things lately....devotionals and articles....about how sometimes we have to completely cut things.....and people.....out of our lives because of the negative impact they have on our walk with the Lord.   That can often be very difficult to do....especially for those....like me.....who want to get along and be "friends" with everybody!!!   It doesn't mean that we think we're superior to others, or better than them in any way at all....it just means that we're trying our best to live for HIM in the best way we know how.....and with HIS guidance and leadership!!!

Proverbs 12:26
The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Which brings me back to the problem with the aforementioned peanut  butter!!!

Since I couldn't resist eating it....
....by the spoonful....
....straight out of the jar....
....I had to completely get it out of my life!!!
So....my solution?!?!
I just quit buying it!!!

Sometimes it takes drastic measures to keep us on the straight and narrow!!!

Happy Monday, Sweet Reader!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

p.s....a very good article about this topic can be found at

  2. AND some folks are stuck to your life like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth....that is when I have to hit the prayer closet and say, Lord teach me your love for them....I within myself cannot love this "clump of peanut butter"....wink wink...He is faithful!

Kind words are like honey—
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
