God has something to say to me!!!

God speaks to His children.....
....but the trouble is we I don't always listen.

I want to share a few things that have happened to me in the last couple of weeks that all have to do with listening to the Holy Spirit....and praying for discernment!!!

A while back, I woke up in the middle of the night with scripture on my mind....it wasn't the "words"....it was book, chapter, verse....and I had no idea what they were.  I couldn't get it off my mind, so I got up and grabbed a Bible and searched it out.  I still can't remember if it was I, or II Corinthians....but as I read chapter 4, verses 7-12 of each of those books....well, they both spoke to me, so I'm figuring God wanted me to glean something from them both!!!

Yesterday, I went to the doctor with my Mom.  Before she came to pick me up, I  felt God speaking to me to pray with my her. Now....I've prayed FOR my Mom....a lot....but never WITH her.  As far back as I can remember, I don't ever recall my Mom praying with me....but, like me, I'm sure she prayed for me.  I tried to tell myself that wasn't what God was asking me to do....actually, I asked Him if He was sure....ha! ha!    When I opened the door to go outside to wait on her, the word "obedience" came to mind.  My Mom always wants me to drive, so as I was getting in the car and buckling up....I said, "Mom"....and she immediately asked "What's wrong?".  I told her nothing was wrong, but that God had asked me to pray with her and I knew I had to do it.  If you knew my Mom, you would understand why I had to be that specific with her.  Anyway....I took her hand in mine, and we prayed.  I prayed out loud....and so did she.

And....while we were at the doctor's office, as the PA explained something to us that my Mom had been experiencing....I knew in my spirit I had to speak up.  As she told my Mom that sometimes the brain and the body aren't in sync....and often the brain would try to convince us of something that wasn't actually true.  I felt in my spirit that I had to speak up and say something.  I shared that sometimes the devil is trying to convince us of something that we know is totally wrong.....and when we wake up in the middle of the night having somewhat of an anxiety attack, we need to pray....pray away any stronghold that Satan might  have on us!!!  I'm not sure that the PA is a CHRISTian....because she said absolutely nothing....not even a nod of the head!!!

I read my e-mails before I started writing this post and was lead to a Joyce Meyer devotional (thanks, Ms. Dawn) that spoke about that very topic.....
....how God does indeed speak to us thru His Holy Spirit!!!

Don't you just love getting Godfirmations?!?!?!
Oh....I like that....Godfirmations!!!

John 16:12-13
I still have many things to say to you.
You are not strong enough to understand them now.
The Holy Spirit is coming.
He will lead you into all TRUTH.
He will not speak His Own words.
He will speak what He hears.
He will tell you of things to come.

Hope your weekend is full of lots of sweet blessings!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. I truly think God leads me here all the time as your words so often speak right to me! I have been praying for the Holy Spirit to give me discernment regarding my healing journey. Love how you mentioned obedience since that is the word God laid on my heart to study this year. Again, your words have touched my heart and are a good way to start my day. What a blessing for your mom that you were willing to pray with her and obeyed God by speaking up. Renee from Adventures In Faithful Living at www.myautumnyears.blogspot.com

  5. Oh . . . how I loved this post.

The Holy Spirit is so real to me the last year as I've struggled thro some things. Probably wouldn't have struggled so much if I would have obeyed faster.

I love the word Godfirmations. Is that your word or did it come from somewhere else. I'd like to add it to my definitions and words, but want to give credit to the right person.

  6. God is so faithful to nudge us and speak to us, and as we practice listening we can hear more fully and react more quickly next time. I loved how you received chapter and verse. I usually just get words! :-) Thank you for sharing at Tell me a Story and please return next Tuesday to enter or view the stories.
