Lord, Bless Us!!!

For quite some time, even before Pappy's unemployment, I've asked the Lord to bless us financially.  I'm not talking about winning the lottery....which would be difficult to win anyway, since we don't play it.  No, when I pray that prayer, I'm just asking for Him to help us meet our needs.....and maybe have some left over to "play" on.  We had a small line of credit loan that I borrowed against so that we could pay off a couple of higher interest bills....because our goal is to become totally debt free, other than the normal monthly bills.  When I went to pay the monthly payment on the loan, I was told that we didn't owe anything.   I tried to explain to the lady that yes we did owe on it and this was the first payment....and she looked again and told me the date it was paid off.  After a bit of research, they were able to tell me when....and who....had blessed us by paying off this loan.

A couple of weeks ago, we had 3 HUGE trees cut down in our yard.  We received yet another blessing from someone who paid to have them cut.  We tried to pay them back, but they refused.    It took Pappy and me close to a week to clean up the brush from the cut trees (they only cut them down, didn't clean up the brush which would have cost a lot more).   When I work outside, I do a lot of thinking.....and I suddenly realized one day....that God had answered my prayer.  Not in the way that I might have thought....actual money in my hand....or in the checkbook.  But, what a blessing to have those two expenses taken care of by people who care and heeded God's prompting!!!

And....yet another to add to the list....is my poor car.  If you remember the saga of Izzy last summer when she overheated and was down for the count for 5 weeks....and one pitiful person offered us $500 to take it off our hands....just so he could fix it and sell it for a tidy little profit, I'm sure.  Anyway....Miss Izzy started making a humming noise.....I told my sweet friend, Ms. Norma, that it wasn't even a tune I could hum along with!!!  Pappy met with Mr. Jeff....the fellow who helped Pappy fix her last year....one afternoon after he got off from work (Jeff's work, not Pappy's!!!)....and he listened to it and told Pappy what he thought was wrong.....so Pappy purchased the $15 part and I....yes, me, Deb....helped him put it on....and then he spent another $15 and changed out the spark plugs....totally without any help from me.....and I'm so happy to say that Miss Izzy is running better than she did, even before the meltdown!!!  That's also a "financial blessing".....because the Good Lord knows we cannot afford another car!!!

Ain't our God just simply AWESOME?!?!?
Oh, yes HE most certainly is!!!

Psalm 28:7
 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.

Happy Thursday, Sweet Reader!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love.....and with mine!!!

  2. God is so good! Thanks for a reminder of His goodness to us. =) What a lovely bunch of blessings.

A recent story for us: One day a piece on the toilet handle broke, so we had to reach into the tank to pull the lever to flush it until hubby could grab the part on the way home from work. While he was at work, the dryer quit working. I was so discouraged not knowing what was wrong with it but also knowing we couldn't afford to buy a new one. In the middle of the day, our boy decided to take a nap because he wasn't feeling great. Once hubby was on his way home, our boy woke up and was throwing up (at which point, I had to reach into the tank to flush the toilet each time... too much info yet? gross...). Well, hubby got home and fixed the toilet. Our boy ate supper and started feeling better. Hubby started researching our dryer and climbing all over the (disgusting!) basement floor searching around the thing. He was able to figure out that a simple fuse had blown inside the dryer, and he found the part for $6!! God is SO good! No need to buy new toilets or dryers for us!

  3. It is wonderful to hear the testimonies of how God provides for us His children. What blessings for you at this trying time financially. Been there ourselves and it always humbles us to see God bless us so abundantly. Your post reminds me of Linny's Memorial Box Mondays posts! Praise God for his goodness!

  4. How faithful He is! We don't have an impressive income, but we have noticed that God has provided an adequate income AND protected our outflow. Compared to many people, it seems we have minimum breakdown of appliances and (up to recent past) minimal medical expenses, etc.

  5. The world is full of sweet angels bring about HIS tender mercies. What a blessing for you my dear friend. I remember finding $500.00 tapped to my front door so I could purchase a much needed new wheelchair...never found out who it came from though; which is okay cause the Lords knows!

  9. A wonderful post. A wonderful testimony to the goodness of our God.

My prayer request this week for my family has been my daughter's German Shepherd. Is that a strange request, do you think? I think not. That dog would not let anything happen to my daughter or 1 y/o grandson.

I'm planning on an answer to prayer on that next week. I want my daughter (who has slipped away from God) that our God does care about her and her dog.

    God can use anything, right?
