A few of my favorite things.....

A "vintage" picture of my Daddy and Momma!!!
(along with a Noah's Ark ornament that our nephew and GRANDsons have played with)

A "cluster of grapes"that my Mom crocheted many years ago.
The crochet thread covers old bottle caps....remember those....with the cork inside?!?!

I don't know much about Pyrex, but I've had these bowls for years.
At one time our kitchen was done in orange and brown....can you say SEVENTIES?!?!?  They usually stay in the china cabinet, but I dig them out this time of year to hold....CANDY!!!

When I "retired", Pappy bought me two of these lamps.
One of them sits right beside me on the computer desk.
I them!!
A collection of lady head vases.  My paternal grandmother had one that I dearly loved and when she passed away, I wasn't blessed to get it....but it got me interested in them.  Most all of these are gifts from friends.  One day I got a call from a sweet lady and she told me she had left me something at our back door....she had bought me the two prettiest ones you see here on the shelf at an antique store.  I keep them on a shelf in the back room above the window.....just to be on the safe side!!

This is the little table/desk that I told y'all about that I got from my Mamaw's estate.  I have no idea how old it is, but it sure was dirty....nothing a good cleaning couldn't take care of!!!
These are a few things that sit on top of the table.
The little lamp belonged to my Dad and Mom and I remember it from when I was a little girl. Mom placed it on top of the water heater in the bathroom in the house I was brought up in!  The little owlie is my latest gift from my friend, Ms. Dawn (it hasn't made it to my desk yet).  The old metal shoe form came from my Mamaw's, too!
An owl cookie jar my brother gave me for my birthday several years ago.
He sits on top of the fridge!!!

I enjoyed going thru the house and looking at some of my vintage items and the memories it brought back of special family and sweet friends!!

Luke 2:19
But Deb treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Hope ya'll have a great Thursday!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

Blessings,
Deb

  4. Very special share today for VTT. I enjoyed all of your Vintage pieces and memories, but I have to say your collection of head vases really caught my attention. You see, I have a Headvase Collection as well, and recently posted about them in a post called 'Collecting Headvases'...still on my home page if you would like to see some of my collection. I have 3 of the same vases you have shown. Also love your owls and have a few of those, too. Happy VTT.

    1. Ms. Alissa, I absolutely love to crochet....but my hands don't like for me to do it as much these days. I've developed carpal tunnel, or RA in my hands and they ache after I crochet for too long a time!!! My Momma taught me the basics, but then I just kinda taught myself all the neat stitches!!!

  13. Girl, we have so much in common! I love 'strolling' through my home, stopping to visit each treasure and basking in all the wonderful memories it holds. My home is full to overflowing, but if it is special to me I don't hide it away in a closet!! {{hugs}}
