Change of Plans

James 4:13-15
Look here, you who say,
“Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year.
We will do business there and make a profit.”
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?
Your life is like the morning fog—
it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
What you ought to say is,
“If the Lord wants us to,
we will live and do this or that.”

The month of July has been full of emotions for my family!!
My Mom had hip replacement surgery on July 1st.
She had some bad reactions to the pain meds they put her on and was supposed to come home with Home Health therapy....
but instead had to go to in-house rehab for 12 days,
beginning July 5th.

On July 15th, we were blessed with our 4th GRANDbaby.
Grandson #3.
(pics to come as soon as Nannie is given permission)

On July 17th, I brought Mom home from rehab.
We went back for her re-check on July 23rd.
He gave her permission to drive.....
that was scary for me 'cause I just didn't think she was ready.
(and still don't)
But...she called me one morning to tell me she was going to go get gas in her truck....
and then called me when she returned.
I think she was quite nervous....
which was a good thing 'cause it kept her more alert!!

I actually spent some time cleaning my house one day last week.
Now, that might not seem like a big thing to y'all,
but to me it was HUGE!!
I was actually able to close some closet doors and pick up and put up and dust and vacuum....
it actually felt good....
that's just how long it had been!!!

Anyway....I'm not sharing any of this to complain!
I'm sharing it to say that we just never know what direction our lives are gonna take us from one day to the next.
I often make plans....
but God just up and totally changes things all around....
to His liking....
and for HIS glory!!!

I was able to take some time last week to have lunch with friends.

So in the midst of everything so hectic and hurried.....
He allowed me to slow down....and relax....and breathe!!!

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes HE is!!!

Isaiah 55:8-9
My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,”
says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

In HIS Most Precious Lve....and with mine, too!!!

Blessings,
Deb

  1. Oh yes, his ways are not our ways, and our plans do not always work out the way we hope they will. Changes seem to happen daily for our goals and plans. Thank you for sharing at "Tell me a Story."
