A Lesson in Trust and Faith

I'm not exactly sure why God is prompting me to share this again.
My hope is that if you're struggling with a decision that might involve finances....
or simply trusting in God....
you'll glean something from what we've gone through.

I haven't worked what my Daddy called a "public job" in almost seven years.
If you've been a friend at Jeremiah 29:11 very long, you might recall that God led me to resign from my job in August of 2006 and He kept placing the verse of scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, on my heart when I would "argue with Him" that there was no way we could afford to live without my salary.  Yes, I was very prideful.  When I obeyed, He showed me just how we can live on only one salary, even though the pay cut for us was more than half.  Then, when Pappy was out of work for exactly a year, the cut became even greater, even with the job he has now.  But....we know in our hearts that with Pappy's health problems, this is EXACTLY the job God wants Him to have.  We had prayed for a job that would be a type of ministry....and this one is.  He can not only be a light for the Lord to others....but they are to Him, too!!!

We've learned some great lessons the last 7 years....

Trust in the Lord.....
not in yourself, or in others.

When all you have to depend on is the Lord to provide for you.....
then, you find yourself leaning on Him even more.

It's so much better to come to the realization that He provides EVERYTHING.....
than to think I'm doing it on my own!!!

Jeremiah 29:11-13
“For I know the plans I have for you,”
says the Lord.
“They are plans for good and not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope.
In those days when you pray,
I will listen.
If you look for me wholeheartedly,
you will find me.”

In HIS Most Precious Lve....and with mine, too!!!

Blessings,
Deb

  1. so timely for me Deb ~ Learning to put your complete trust in the LORD for ALL things means to surrender ALL things to HIM....I am in the land of Goshen right now and the darkness around is as it was in Egypt time.....so thankful for the LIGHT that protects me from this darkness! Trusting Him ....hallelujah

  2. yes, yes, Yes!! God spoke to me in the same way just over a year ago. Since listening to Him and leaving that job, I have been tremendously blessed! He is still speaking to me about obedience, surrender, and trusting Him. I'm a work in progress.

  3. Trust in The Lord.......these words are speaking to me today. Not with finances today although in the past for sure. God does provide as we walk forward trusting him.

  4. Thank you for sharing at "Tell me a Story." When God impresses upon us something that seems difficult and even impossible, it is best to obey. He has blessed you through your obedience.
