Coming "Home"

Isaiah 30:18
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the Lord is a faithful God.
Blessed are those who wait for his help.

Sometime last spring,
I moved our dining room table and chairs to the sun room for the summer.
I thought it would be great to do my devotions out there each morning. Sometime shortly after that,
I began to feel like I was drifting farther and farther away from my blog.
I wondered if it was God leading me away,
or a decision that I was making all on my own.
One morning last week,
I got up really early and told Pappy before he left for work that I was going to go back to doing my devotions in the living room in my "devotional chair".
I've shared this chair with y'all before.
We only paid $15 for this vintage find and I adore it......
While sitting in "my" chair and talking with the Lord....
I suddenly starting having ideas for posts.

The small table beside my chair

I know we can read our Bible and pray anywhere.....
and oh, what a privilege that is.
But, don't you agree that sometimes it's good to just get where we're the most comfortable to spend time with Him.....
to ask Him to speak to us thru His word?

The view out the window

Had God gone anywhere?
Absolutely not.
Was it wrong to read my devotionals and the scripture that went along with them on the back porch.
Again....no.

A pic of our sweet grands taken in Uganda.
My brother made the small wooden bowl,
and also the pen and pencil.....
just for me!!!

I just know for me, that God was calling me back to familiarity.
He was leading me back into deep communion with Him!!

A big coffee mug Pappy got me several years ago!!!

Psalm 71:17
O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood,
and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do.

In HIS Most Precious Lve....and with mine, too!!!

Blessings,
Deb

  1. I enjoyed this post and your familiar space looks very comfy. Did you do a post on the grandkids in Uganda? I'm reading Kisses from Katie right now and of course, would love to be in Uganda with her!
