PTL.....

I used those initials in a text to a family member and she sent me a text back asking what "PTL" meant.
Of course, the letters stand for.....
PRAISE THE LORD!!!

How often do you say those words?
Or, simply,
"Thank You, Lord"!

I think for many of us,
it just becomes second nature to whisper those words when things go our way.
Like yesterday.....
I was looking at my phone while driving.
I wasn't sending a text,
but I did realize that I had looked at it a bit too long.
So, I thanked God for keeping me safe while I was doing something that was totally unsafe.
Later in the day,
I was placing a glass jar into the fridge and almost dropped it....
which would have made a huge mess.
I thanked God for the "save" when I caught it before it hit the hard floor!!

But, how often do I thank God.....
or praise His Name.....
when things don't go how I would like?

Uh-oh!
That thought was an eye opener for me.

Often it's those times that God has a better plan....
or He has a lesson He wants to teach me.

Breathing in Jesus,

Deb

  1. I enjoyed this post, Debbie. It made me think about how when things turn out the way we want them to we say, "God is good". When they don't turn out the way we think they should, do we always say, "God is good" ? The fact remains that God is ALWAYS good...just as we should always praise Him, regardless of whether or not things turn out the way we want. Very thought provoking post, Debbie! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Praising the Lord through the hard times can be tough but it is at those times that I make a deliberate choice to Praise Him that I feel the calmest! Thanks for sharing my friend. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. So true. Sometimes during hard times or right after, it is cool to see what help He has sent.
