Comparison.....

Remember I told y'all that I had joined an on-line weight loss group? I really don't like calling it that, though, because for me it's been much more than about weight.  I joined for the accountability and to learn what works.....and doesn't work.....for others.  We receive an e-mail each day to encourage us and this was yesterday's.  I saw a lot of myself in this, and wondered if it might help some of you, too!!!

Day 22:

The Comparison Game

Comparing ourselves to others does not serve anybody,
so if you are doing it......
STOP IT!
Most people are very skilled at hiding their problems, weaknesses, and discouragements. When we beat ourselves up through comparisons we tend to withdraw from people, rather than taking opportunities to share our strengths with others, and learn how to improve aspects of weakness in our lives.

God has really been doing a work in my heart for the last few months.....

speaking to me a lot about being worthy.
Well, actually me feeling unworthy would be more accurate.
I'm not talking about being conceited or "holier than thou".....
just simply worthy!
For lots of reason that I won't share here
(at least not today).....
I've NEVER felt worthy!

But, I'm HIS.....
so how much worthy could I be?!?
Since He finally got that planted into my mind.....
okay, thru my thick skull.....
of how He really sees me.....
the weight loss has been easier!!!

2 Corinthians 10:12
Oh, don’t worry;
we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are!
But they are only comparing themselves with each other,
using themselves as the standard of measurement.
How ignorant!

 ouch....:(

  1. Comparison...it probably hurts many more people than we realize. I know I have been guilty of it for a very long time until the last few years. Thank you for sharing here about it, Deb.

  2. Hi Deb! I love this encouragement today! Maybe I told you? My husband and I started on South Beach last week. It's good that we are doing it together. I know all about comparisons. They really grind me down. I like how God is telling you to stop doing that. He thinks you are the best ever!
Between the message and the header, I have been filled today :)

  4. Your words speak to me today. I'm also in an online weight loss group for accountability. (It works!) The Lord is speaking the same to me.
