{ Friday Foto Friends #26 }

We've had some CRAZY weather the last few days.
It's "blackberry winter" because all the blackberry briars are loaded down with blossoms.
It even snowed at Mt. LeConte today.
It is May, right?
Yesterday, one minute the sun would be out and the next it would  be pouring down rain.  Pappy and I made a quick  trip to Knoxville and here were skies heading in that direction....

And, here it was as we drove back up the highway toward our house.....

Most of our flowers are starting to fade away,
which makes me kinda sad to see them go.
The rain has knocked many of the blossoms off the hydrangeas and azaleas.
But, one of my favorite flowers is just now blooming......
peonies.....
or "pineys", as my Mamaw called them.
My bushes came from her yard.

How about y'all?
How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

It's supposed to warm up and be close to eighty degrees on SONday,
just in time to celebrate Mother's Day.

HOPE everybody has a Fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

  1. It has been very cool and very rainy here. (and windy)--no snow---I saw that about Mt. LeConte and had to giggle over that. I don't have any pictures yet for the Friday Foto, maybe later.

    Have a beautiful day, friend.

  2. Our weather is GORGEOUS right now and PERFECT for our annual art festival this weekend!! It is usually hot and humid, but we are promised high 70s and no humidity for the next few days. We had bushes of peonies in the yard when I was growing up. I remember how pretty they were, but they were always full of ants. No way could you cut them for a bouquet in the house...what a mess. We had white ones and two colors of pink. They don't grow in Florida.
