{ Wednesday's Word - Peace }

Yesterday morning as we were getting ready to go to an appointment, I was thinking about how peaceful I felt and these song lyrics came to mind.....

"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way"
(It Is Well With My Soul, Horatio G. Spafford)

Later as I was praying, I looked up and this is what I saw right in front of me.....

That rusty peace sign has hung on that wall for quite some time, but I don't really pay a lot of attention to it.  I think God brought it to my attention yesterday because He was speaking peace to my heart about the appointment and He knew I needed a visible sign.

Romans 15:13
 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The appointment went well.
We still don't have an answer about Pappy's job,
but we're not worried one bit no matter the outcome.

God's got this.
He's in control.
He has a plan for us and it's good!

  1. My motherinlove's favorite song was "It is well with my soul". I can't hardly listen to it without crying. Peace...can only come Christ...the kind of peace that only He gives as the world gives NONE!Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  6. Peace is a beautiful gift that comes to us in the moments when things aren't so peaceful around us, and what joy to know that we can sit back and rest securely in the hands of our Lord! Glad that your appointment went well and will pray for a joy for Pappy! Hugs to you today dear friend!

  7. One of my favorite hymns as well. I remember many years ago seeing the Bill Gaither Trio in concert and hearing Danny Gaither singing that. Peace is such a precious gift from God. I'm glad that the appointment went well and am continuing to pray for a good outcome.

  8. God bless you both. That is one of my favorite older hymns. When I was church pianist, during college years (a long time ago) I played that often. The older I get, the more the lyrics mean to me.
