{ Wednesday's Word - Worship }

 Worship is so much more than attending church and singing and praising and praying and reading our Bible.  True worship of our heavenly Father involves EVERYTHING about us, including our thoughts and actions......
  not just when we're in church, but in our every day lives.  When we I truly want all the glory to go to Him, it will affect our my speech and actions. It will help determine how I spend my money and my time. It will mean thinking more of others than myself.  True worship involves sacrifice of my selfishness.

I love it when God speaks His truths to me, even when it hurts because I know it's for my own good and it's only because of His great love for me (and you).  After all, isn't that what a Father does?

I'm realizing all of this MORE and MORE (my 2017 word) as I study and ponder on this word.....
worship.

  2. Ah yes...Worship is an all day experience when we focus our thoughts and attention on Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our Faith...How can we help but love Him, when He loved us so???

  4. I always think of the old saying, if you talk the talk, be sure and walk the walk too. Going to church has never saved anyone, but living close to the foot of the cross certainly helps. I have the HOPE of my Savior and cling to Him every day.

  8. Deb, I love music and as I read your post words to this song entered my mind. I found myself singing and reading at the same time....don't know how that happens, but sometimes it does!! Hello Holy Spirit!!
    Here I am to worship
    Here I am to bow down
    Here I am to say that You're my God
    You're altogether lovely
    Altogether worthy
    Altogether wonderful to me

  9. What a wonderful post, Debbie. So many times I think we tend to think of worship as only the time we spend at church...and it is truly everything that you shared here. I remember reading a book by Elisabeth Elliot early on in my Christian faith and one thing she stressed was exactly what you've shared here. Thank you so much for the reminder.

  10. Our life is to be offered as worship to HIM indeed, not just at certain times but any and all times! Let everything that hath breath give thanks :) I love to worship, sing and praise the Lord, and it is so true, we should be living a constant life of worship unto Him. Amen! Hugs to you today :)
