{ Friday Foto Friends #112 }

It's our very first Friday Foto Friends for 2018, Y'all, so to celebrate I changed our little "button"!
Whatcha think?
Isn't she adorable?
Okay, not everybody feels like I do about the owlies, I know!
😊

Here are my offerings for today!

Last summer we were invaded by yellow jackets. As old as I am I didn't know that yellow jackets are in the wasp family until I did some research. I also had no idea that they sometimes build nests above the ground. Because the weather has been really cold Pappy knew he wouldn't be in danger of getting stung so he removed the nest from under the back deck.  I'm sorry the pics aren't very good but isn't it just amazing how God designed it?
(notice I put it in a ziplock bag JUST IN CASE there might be a cold natured bee lingering in one of those holes)

Early one morning in the driveway at my Mom's house.....

The sky on the way to see our grands one day.....

Out our back door yesterday morning.....

HOPE everybody has a great weekend.....

PLEASE stay safe and warm!

  2. I love your little owl. The photo images are awesome. I've always been intrigued by the honeycombs of bees. I didn't know wasps made them too.

  7. Every time I see something owlie, I think of you and have grown to love them, giggling. Negative 26 with snow squalls and they have closed the schools here...and those yellow jackets are nasty buggers. smiles

  8. WoW that was a big nest! We're warming up down here, supposed to be near 70* by Sunday. There's a lot of sickness around, can't help but believe it's because our temps go up and down so often. Last Sunday we were trying to protect our pipes from freezing and this Sunday we'll be in flip flops!! Hope you have a great weekend.

  10. I got stung by yellow jackets twice this past summer. Good news is that I'm not allergic.
Like your header picture. It would make a great jigsaw puzzle.

  13. I think this past summer was a bad year for yellow jackets. I have lost count of the number of people who have talked about them. We had some also.

Beehives are amazing! Truly a part of God's design, yes?

Your early morning sky pictures are so pretty, Debbie. xx

  15. We have a bumble bee nest under the house, so far not a problem. We'll see how things go and maybe get it removed. I enjoyed your photos, the sky changes so often it and can be amazing to see all the cloud formations.
