{ Tuesday Tidbits }

Can you even believe that Christmas is a week from today?
Me either!

The young carpenter will be back this morning to hopefully finish up the cover over our back porch.
Y'all, it looks like it should have been there all along!
I'm so grateful God's allowed us to get this done.

We're going to be spending time this afternoon with our Special Friends going to the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show -
so excited!!!

If you're looking for a short devotional and you have issues with "emotional strongholds" (or is that just me?), may I suggest "30 Days to Overcoming Emotional Strongholds", by Dr. Tony Evans.
It's gonna take more than 30 days for me, but it's very good reading.

My birthday is next month and my Keurig sounded like a wild animal in labor, so I splurged and got myself a combined Christmas/birthday gift - a new Keurig in the color "rhubarb".
Our oldest grandson said he was glad I didn't get a black one, but chose a color - me, too!

Y'all might have seen this on Facebook, but this is the ornament I made for our kiddos this year.....
times 4. I found the pattern at What Madeleine Loves and it's free. I had a really hard time figuring out how to display them but finally decided to buy round wooden disks (Hobby Lobby), painted them dark blue to represent the night sky and hot glued the ornaments to them. I wood burned our kiddos names and the year on the backs. I want to make our daughter - and myself one, too - but it'll have to wait until after Christmas. I'm blanket-stitched out right now!

Do Y'all have birdfeeders?
We have two outside the window where our computer is and I enjoy watching the birdies oh, so much.  We only fill them with sunflower seeds, otherwise, we wind up with grass growing underneath the feeders - who knew?

There's a precious 4-year old in our church who was recently diagnosed with leukemia and he's going through chemo treatments. Please pray for Holston and his family. I think I have problems and troubles until I hear about things like this and it truly puts things into perspective. There's power in prayer, Y'all, and I know this family would appreciate any and all prayers!

I could write on and on, but.....

That's that about that as my Mammie used to say!

HOPE everybody has a Terrific Tuesday!

  2. I love your ornament. So cute! Thanks for reminding me about the bird feeder. I need to get some seed and hang it out. I do a hummingbird feeder in the summer and a regular feeder in the winter. Have a great day.

  5. Oh, I am praying for Holston right now. I am so very sorry to hear this. Poor little guy. May God speed healing to him. Praying for his family too. Love your little ornaments, they are so cute. Yes, I have bird feeders. I used mostly safflower seed to keep the squirrels out of it, but I do mix in some sunflower seed mixture so the Cardinals and all will be happy. The squirrels have figured it out too...so, oh well, they have to eat too. I don't worry about what grows underneath. We live in the woods. Your new coffee pot sounds pretty. Rhubarb color? I must look that up...is it reddish green? Wow. Enjoy. Enjoy your new little back porch roof too. That is nice. I love any kind of little porch or big. Merry Christmas. Enjoy your Dinner show tonight. We have choir practice, and then Thursday is our cantata dress rehearsal, and Sunday is the big event. So I'll be singing a lot this week. Love it. Have a blessed week.

  6. Used to have bird feeders at the old house but don't have them here in the woods. They attract the bears and once they know food is around they keep coming back.

  9. Christmas times a coming for sure Deb. WOW! Where has 2018 gone? LOVE those darling ornaments you made. Girl....You got talent for sure. We went to the Hatfields and Mccoy show one time and I have never heard Marty laugh so much! He loved it. So sorry to hear about Holston. Breaks my heart. One of my daughter's neighbors...their little 3 year old Ava was just diagnosed with Leukemia. They have three daughters and she is the baby. Within a matter of 5 days their whole life changed! Melissa is in the process now of trying to organize some meals for the family so we can be a blessing. We just gotta know that we know that we know that our God is on the throne for sure. I bet that will be a good devotional. I like Tony Evans. Hugs and blessings to you. Cindy
