{ Being Pruned }

Prune - to cut off or cut back parts of for better shape or more fruitful growth

Can you think of a specific time when God was 'pruning" you - getting rid of the junk and the dead and the negative way of thinking to make way for new growth - planting in you a new attitude and mindset?

If it's not too personal, let me know in the comments and I'll share some of the 'pruning' going on in my own life later this week.

  1. Yes, I know the Lord has used many different seasons in my life to do some "pruning". It's not a one-time fix all kind of thing...it is a constant work, with little reprieve. As soon as I think, "I've got this", God shows me new areas that need work. Sometimes after I think I've learned something well, He shows me that I really need some further remedial work. So, I thank the Lord that He doesn't give up on me and write me off as a hopeless case. He keeps pruning and repairing and creating me into the woman of God He wants me to be. It's a good thing, not a bad thing. I am looking forward to hearing more about how God has been pruning and shaping you into His beloved child. To us, you already seem just right. But God knows our inward parts, and that's where He does the most work on me, and I hope He doesn't stop. Have a blessed day my friend. Welcome Back! We've missed you.

  2. I've been pruned many times, various things, various times in life. I think the biggest pruning was my 'take charge' attitude and actions. He has had to get me many times and remind He is in charge, and for me to just calm down and trust Him. And you know what? I finally listened and acted on His instruction and now I live a much more peaceful life. We are not created to carry the world on our shoulders, He is the only one that can do that anyway, so don't even try. I rejoice in all my prunings even though some of them sure did hurt. When all is said and done and am so thankful to have a Heavenly Father that corrects me and keeps me on the right path, His path. It's so good to see your blog coming up on my blog feed, I've missed you. Sending you ((hugs)) across the miles.

  3. Oh, yes, Debbie. I've been pruned, left to grow and then pruned again to grow in a new way. What a blessing to know we are works in progress and our Lord takes such good care of His garden!!
