There are some folks I follow on Instagram and they post the most awesome pictures of our Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas.  That's where I get many of my blog headers and I want to give them a shout-out because I'm so blessed to be able to share their photography here on my blog.

My sweet friend, Ms. Mary, commented on my header so I thought I would explain where it came from. Remember, I've shared with y'all how God led me to quit my job almost eight years ago?  Well, one of the Project Managers I worked for no longer works there, either. He travels to some of the most exotic parts of the world and his photography on Facebook was just amazing.  When I saw this picture, I got his permission to use it on my blog.

We've had this pink dogwood tree for over ten years and it's NEVER bloomed.....

until this year.....

and it only had this one little flower on it.

It's just a bit sad, don't you think?

Any of my friends out there know what could be wrong with our tree....

why she doesn't want to bloom?

And, why she would only produce one itsy bitsy blossom?
Bless her heart!

Memories.....

We have Easter flowers blooming in our yard that came from my Papaw and Mamaw's old home place.  Pappy dug them up the year after Mamaw passed away and this is the first year they've bloomed for us.  I picked a few and placed them in a mug Pappy bought me for Valentine's Day, along with some sweet smelling hyacinths that came in a basket of flowers I got many years ago from Pappy and also from my Aunt Katherine. 
It's so sweet to think back with fondness about those special people in our life!!!

A few weeks ago, on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon, Pappy and I took a little drive up to Douglas Dam.  This picture was taken from the overlook. I love how it shows the dam and Douglas Lake and also the majestic Great Smoky Mountains in the background.  If you look really close, you can also see the American flag flying at the top of the dam. What a privilege to live in such a beautiful part of the country!!!

Autumn Owlies.....

 Y'all know I love owls, right?

I've adored the little creatures for many, many years.....

long before the craze hit.

But, I've  gotta say.....

their popularity has added fuel to the fire!!!

Since I have somewhat of a problem with all the hoop-la over Halloween.....
let's celebrate the day with little fall owlies!!!

This made me think of our four grand's!
