I Never Promised You a Rose Garden

It's only early Wednesday morning....and here is what's happened so far this week:

Monday
I got up early to walk because I hadn't walked since last Thursday, which made me feel terrible...not just physically, but...well, if you walk, then you understand!!!
I got my walk in, then decided to do some weeding. As I pulled my cart out from under the back porch, I felt a "prick" on my left arm...then...suddenly...out of nowhere...were wasps...everywhere!! I ran out into the back yard, thinking if my back door neighbor sees me, she's going to be laughing her head off (funny how I think crazy stuff like that instead of focusing on what's going on!!). Anyway...came in the house...found some spray...sprayed the wasps (so sorry if you don't believe in killing bugs/ants/spiders/flying insects)...tore down the nest...and carried on with the rest of my day.

Tuesday
I went down to keep the boys. I was giving Little Bit his bottle when Big Brother went into his room. I wasn't paying enough attention...obviously. He proceeded to lock himself in his room....accidentally. I heard him beating on the door, and thought he was just playing. So..I go to let him out of his room...and...I can't get the door open. Little Bit was asleep so I put him in his crib and I go thru the house trying to find something to open the door...no luck...tried calling my Mom...the great-grandmother...she can do absolutely ANYTHING....a true "Jacqueline of All Trades"...but she wasn't home. Tried calling Jess...she was taking pics...tried Pappy...no answer...so...I called The Dad at work, which I don't like to do. The Dad could tell I was getting a bit panicky. He told me how to open the door...which wasn't quite like our doors at home. So I go dig around in his tool box trying to find a flat head screwdriver. During all of this Little Bit woke up and was all smiles...until I kept ignoring him...then he starts crying and I look over and he's turned himself sideways in the bed with his head underneath the bumper pad...he was not happy. So...he goes into the Exersaucer. Now...you've gotta picture this...Little Bit is in the Exersaucer getting fussy....Big Brother is hollering "Nana"....Nana is hollering "Sam"....I'm asking him what he's doing...he says "playing"....I tell him to try to open the door...he tries...no luck. I'm down on my knees squinting trying to see the little slot where I'm supposed to turn either right, or left. I FINALLY get the door open. I'm teary eyed by now and I hug and kiss on him and tell him I'm sorry and then....I hold him out and tell him to NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!! Of course, as any of you who have ever had any experience at all with a 2 year old know...he had no clue that anything was wrong...just that he was happy as a lark...in his room...playing by himself!!!

Okay...it's early Wednesday morning...I need to go walk...but I'm thinking staying in bed might not be a bad idea for today....not really, but it's tempting. As for the wasp sting...my arm is swollen, red, itching and achy...as for Big Brother...all he wants are "miles" from his Nana (which are those little gummy "Smiles" that you get in a big box at WalMart). Nana + Food = Happy!!! As for life...it goes on...and none of my little troubles, or problems, even compare to what some people go thru...they just keep life interesting!!!

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
II Corinthians 4:8-10 (NLT)

In His Love....and with mine!!!
