I Am Glorious!!!

I've read several devotionals this week concerning how we are to forgive ourselves. I felt they were talking directly to me, but in case any of you have the same problem...then, I want to share how I feel about this with the rest of you.
We know that God forgives us....and we don't doubt that....but it's trying to put whatever it is that we won't forgive ourselves for out of our minds and going on with our lives!!!
If God forgives...then we should, too...that means forgiving others...and forgiving yourself!!!

There's a song by the David Crowder Band called "Everything Glorious".
Part of the lyrics are:

"You make everything glorious

And I am Yours.
What does that make me?"

Had you ever thought of that? If God makes, or made, everything glorious....and like the verse of scripture that I used yesterday about how we should give thanks "in everything"....then that means us, too...you and me!!!
God made us....
He made everything glorious...
.....we should give thanks for everything He made...
.....including ourselves!!!
WOW!!

Now, that's a bit difficult for me to comprehend. I am glorious...I should be thankful for "me"??????? I have never had a very high opinion of myself, for lack of a better way to say it!! But...according to scripture...God has a very high opinion of me...and you!! This should make each of us very humble....knowing how much God loves us....remember, though, that he loves the sinner...not the sin!!!
So...from now on...since we know that God loves us and forgives us of our sins...let's try our best to forgive ourselves, too!!!

This little saying by Ethel Waters comes to mind:

"I know I'm somebody, 'cause God don't make no junk."

So...when you start sinking in that pit of self-pity, believing the lies that others have said about you, or the lies that you've told yourself about how unworthy you are....just remember this:

Jeremiah 1:5 (NLT)
I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart.

Hallelujah...and AMEN!!!

In His Love...and with mine!!!
