Encouragement

On Wednesday, I posted a verse of scripture for my "Word Filled Wednesday"....and it wasn't really a verse that I gave a lot of thought to....except that I went thru a multitude of little "signs" before I finally settled on that verse....but....it really had nothing to do with me....it was what HE wanted to be shared!!!

Here's the verse.....
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 -Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.  If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

That one post received comment after comment as to what that verse of scripture meant to some of you.  Then, today....I received a comment from a lady who lives in India who became a follower of my blog because she loves Jeremiah 29:11, too.  Isn't it wonderful how God is the God of the universe....not just my little "domain"?!?!?
And....I also had a commenter share with me how she and her husband had both accepted the Lord....here are her words:
"me at home on my knees w/my boys; my husband in a bunker during a battle"

I get a bit discouraged sometimes because I have friends and family who never leave a comment....I'm not sure if some of my family even read what I write.   But God....He knows when I need an encouraging word....and even though I know in my heart of hearts that I don't deserve His mercy and grace and goodness....He gives it to me anyway!!!

We will NEVER be like Jesus....no matter how hard we try, or how long we live....but....if that is our desire....to be more and more CHRIST-like....then, EVERYTHING that happens to us has to be used toward that goal.  So....whatever rejection that I sometimes feel....can in no way begin to compare to what Jesus felt when He suffered and died on the cross....or to what He feels today when people refuse to accept Him as their Lord and Savior!!!

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes HE is!!!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  2. Beautiful. You are a blessing to those you least expect. I am always in awe of the fact that anyone could be reading our blogs at any moment without us ever knowing it on this side of heaven. It is all for God's glory.

As far as the personal friends never commenting, you are not alone. NONE of the personal friends I gave my blog address to have EVER commented. Oh, but what beautiful, supportive, and encouraging messages I receive from my online friends across this globe. This always reminds me of Matthew 6:14 "Then Jesus told them, 'A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.'" (NLT)

    Blessings!

  3. Your blog is an inspiration to me, and I'm sure to many that read it. I have a couple of friends that read mine, but most of my comments come from other bloggers. Keep up the good work! I wish I could write on the level you do. I think I taught elementary for too long. LOL

  4. Keep up the good work Ms Debbie. I just sometimes finally get caught up on the week ends with blogging. I love reading your blog it is so inspiring. I read off of it sometimes for our devotional with my boys in the morning. The one most recently was TO KNOW HIM, I believe was the title.
