I've got something in my eye!!

I know all of you have read these scriptures, probably lots of times....but every single time I read them, I can't help but get a chuckle at the visual of somebody with a big 2 x 4 sticking out of their eye....

Mark 3:41-42
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
How can you think of saying,
‘Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye, when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?
Hypocrite!
First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye."

So many times....we see the faults of others....and sometimes we even feel it's our job to let them know what their faults are.  I've heard it said that often the faults we see in others....are actually our own faults and shortcomings!

If we see our friends doing wrong....it's not that whatever they're doing isn't any of our business....but....we do need to "clean up" our own lives, so to speak, before we start trying to even begin to help them.  We have to lovingly hold each other accountable regarding sin....with the emphasis on the word "lovingly"!!!

Remember the woman who was caught in adultery....and her accusers were ready to stone her?
Here's what Jesus had to say to them....

John 8:7b
“All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

Let's not be so hasty to judge others....until we take a good long look at ourselves!

In His Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!
