Thoughtful Thursday!!!

Shakespeare had it right.

This little quote by Mr. William Shakespeare reminded me of a conversation I had with my Mom yesterday.  We were talking about friends and she told me that she didn't have any close friends.  I've heard her say many times that my Dad was her best friend....and I think now it's me.  I've learned a hard lesson the last few years....it's best to try to be "friendly" to everybody....and friends with few. It takes time to really get to know a person before you open up and share your personal feelings with them.

Your inner circle, those who are closest to you, should be people who celebrate who you are; people who are happy when you succeed. They should be people who believe the very best in you.  Your friends should be there not only when things are going great for you....but especially when you're down and out and truly need a friend.  Remember, it’s not the quantity of friends that’s important, it’s the quality of friends. Choose your friends wisely so you can be all that God has called you to be.

Proverbs 12:26
The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray!

Matthew 7:6b
Don’t throw your pearls to pigs!
They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.

Hope you have a great day, Sweet Reader!!!

In HIS Most Precious Love....and with mine!!!

  1. Ya know Deb, I can relate so incredibly much...I just thought everyone would be "friend"...and then through much heartache and devastation I found that there is an outward friendship for the beneifit of someone's status, and then you have the friend that states, it matters not..I'm your friend...and those are few ....I have friends on the outer circle that would help as long as it did not involve sacrifice and I have one or two that would go to the depth of sacrifice for me....and then there is ONE "a friend" that died for me when I was not even His Friend...this Friend I long for above all others! Love Thursday Thoughts!

  2. ....interesting reflections on the subject of friendship, Deb. Once I did a Bible study on the subject out of the book of Proverbs... It was helpful and interesting, too!

  3. I've had many friends but very few best friends. when I met those few best friends it just 'clicked.' We didn't try for it, I don't think we even thought about, close friendship just happened..AND..that doesn't happen often in life.
