Keep Going.....

I stepped out onto the back porch yesterday to go for my morning walk and felt a few sprinkles of rain.  I opened the door and got my umbrella, thinking I probably wouldn't really need it, but as it turned out I did.  As I continued to walk, the rain got harder and at one point I felt in my spirit....."keep going".  When I got to one of the side roads, there came a "gully warsher" (East Tennessee term.....;-) and I did head back toward home.  As I walked back down the road our house is on, I felt really comfortable because I was headed home.  I was in familiar territory.  Just about that time, the rain let up some and I decided to "keep going" and walked back toward the end of the subdivision.

As I continued on my way, I thought about how many times I've started out thinking that everything was going to be a-okay.....but then the storms of life would set in and I would try my best to keep going, but things just got too hard for me.  I would find myself often turning back to my old ways because they were more familiar to me.  They were places that I felt the most comfortable, even if they might not be the best for me.  In order to grow and achieve anything worthwhile, though, I had to "keep going".....there was a great need to persevere in order to see something accomplished.

Did I finish my walk?
Yes, I did.....
and when I got back home I was soaked, even with my umbrella.  But, I also felt a sense of accomplishment and the joy of knowing that God had spoken to me!

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes He is!!!

HOPE your Thursday is Terrific!!!

  2. Deb...I love this! Absolutely love this today. I had a friend come and give testimony last night to my ladies and her main overall message was :We MUST keep going! THIS IS WHAT GRABBED ME: but then the storms of life would set in and I would try my best to keep going, but things just got too hard for me. I would find myself often turning back to my old ways because they were more familiar to me. They were places that I felt the most comfortable, even if they might not be the best for me. In order to grow and achieve anything worthwhile, though, I had to "keep going".....there was a great need to persevere in order to see something accomplished. This last sentence, last phrase is what I needed today! I need to share this with a loved one that needs to read this...hear this...see this. And I did too! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. Hi Deb! Good for you, you kept on in the storm! That's what we are all called to do spiritually, and you showed me that in your determination to get that walk in, no matter the weather.
God is so good to us, and you are so blessed to be given the Spirit to call to you "keep going". It's our universal call. Thank you for this wonderful example of staying the course.
    Blessings!
