{ Are you ready for CHRISTmas? }

  As I checked out at Wal-Mart one day last week, the clerk and I talked about being "ready for Christmas". I know what she meant.  She was talking about all the preparations leading up to the "big Day". There's running here and there (even if it's from one web-site to another), spending, wrapping, baking, cooking, partying, get-togethering, picture taking, church plays and concerts.....
all sorts of hustling and bustling. I know I'm certainly not alone in the statement I made to the sweet girl that it hurts my heart that Christmas isn't celebrated for it's true meaning.  Don't get me wrong because I get caught up in all  the "worldly" celebrations myself.....
especially, when it comes to our grand-kiddos.  I just can't help myself.

But that question.....
"Are you ready for Christmas?",
has really stuck in my mind  this past week.
As I pondered on that thought, the lyrics to one of the most profound Christmas carols came to mind......

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

"Let every heart prepare Him room."

That's my prayer this CHRISTmas.....
that my heart (and mind) will be ready each and every day to receive Him.

  1. For some reason, I've been so distracted this season that I've had a hard time focusing in on the true meaning. I'm ready for Christmas regarding preparations but still getting ready in my spirit. Have a blessed day.

  2. I am with you...seems this year I am more focused on the real meaning. We too get together, unwrap gifts, eat, sing, play, but the true reason is what we all need to dwell on, not just now, but all year long. Blessings to you today my friend.

  5. It's so easy to get caught up in the 'worldly' Christmas....I am so guilty. I still always put Him first! I love your message today, a great reminder of where we should be in our heart. Merry Christmas sweet lady!
