{ Friday Foto Friends #23 }

We've had this dogwood tree for quite some time.
One year it had only one bloom on it.
This year, it has ten and you don't know how excited that made us.
But.....
do any of you know how to get it to be full of blooms?
I obviously don't have a green thumb when it comes to dogwood trees....LOL!

HOPE everybody is enjoying this gorgeous spring weather.....
well, if it's actually spring in your neck of the woods!

I'd love for you to link up with us today!

Have a great weekend!

  1. We had one growing up and it bloomed tons every year. But we never did anything to it. I have that same problem with my apple tree. My facebook memories from a year ago the other day showed it totally bloomed and full on April 11th. But this year on April 11th, I only had ONE FLOWER. Who knows. :)

  2. Beautiful flower. I don't know a thing about caring for the Dogwoods, hope someone comes along with some good tips for you. Have a very blessed weekend. I'm sitting here with the back door slightly open, and there is no sunshine beaming in...looks like another cloudy, gloomy, rainy day. The good news, the SON is shining in my heart.

  3. I do love dogwood trees and the legend of them, but have never had one so I really couldn't tell you any secret about getting them to bloom. Have you checked with your local expert at the nursery? ;-) I find that I get different answers at different nurseries and am confused a lot of the time. Neil Sperry is a good resource and he has a page on Facebook where you can ask questions.

  8. Dogwoods do best in full sun, and rich soil. They may not bloom until they are 6 years or older. I can't remember where you live, but if you had a cold spell just as the buds were about to open, they could have frozen and died.
