{ Vintage Hankies }

 I found a use for some vintage hankies that I inherited from one of my grandmothers.  I ironed, folded, and hung them over a little "clothesline" made out of twine.  I like it.....

so much better than in a bag in the linen closet.

Here are some other things I found you could use your vintage hankies for.....

A quilt.....

A skirt.....

A window valance.....

A shower curtain.....

vintage handkerchiefs repurposed into a shower curtain

A table runner.....

And, this wreath might be my favorite.....

What about you?
Do you have any vintage hankies stored away?

HOPE everybody has a great Tuesday!!!

  1. Oh my goodness! How pretty! I really like your hankie banner you've hung and I agree: much better there, than in a closet somewhere!!!

  2. Debbie, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending this precious post! Memories of my dear grandmothers raced to my mind when I saw the hankies. Oh, I miss them so much, and my mother, and I'm 69! Do we ever get over losing our mentors? I know I will see them again in heaven, but, how I long to pick up the phone and hear their sweet voices, or see their faces. They were three amazing women! I am especially impressed to make the hankie quilt. All the items are beautiful, though. Thank you again and I pray God's best blessings on you, today. Bev

  3. What clever ways to use the vintage hankies. I think my favorite is the valance.
    Unfortunately I don't have any. I remember using them myself though when I was a kid. I always had one in my pocketbook when I went to church.

  6. SO pretty! I have a couple of hankies from the Man of the House's grandmother. No but not nearly enough to do something cool like this.
