{ All Saint's Eve }

I'm gonna be perfectly honest here about something.

I don't like Halloween.

I really can't tell you where my dislike actually began, but it's grown worse through the years. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with all the scary places you can go visit these days and how there are row after row of "evil" in the stores that push the Thanksgiving and harvest decorations to hide in a measly little section at the end of an aisle.

Yes, that's probably it, for the most part.....
the commercialization of Halloween and how it's ALL about making money.  Why, even Facebook has gotten in on the act with their Halloween character emojis.

Since I'm pretty sure y'all don't really want my opinion about Halloween, I'll just share something else that kinda goes along with the holiday.  I adore Liz Curtis Higgs and her writings and this is one that was written specifically for kiddos, but it speaks to us older folk's hearts, too!

If you haven't read the book, it'll only take about 5 minutes to enjoy it being read to you in the little video.

HOPE each of you has a very happy All Saint's Eve!

  2. I am so interested in what you have to say about Halloween, Deb, I feel the same.. I was about to think I was the only one that felt this way. I won't be posting or commenting on anything Halloween. I enjoyed the video and love the verses used in it!
    Have a great day!

  3. Deb, we don't acknowledge Halloween at our house. We prefer harvest festivals, fall colors and lots of pumpkins!

  5. Deb, I share your dislike for Halloween as well. I'm always glad to see the back end of that holiday. It's easier for me to take that stance since I don't have children to get all excited about trick or treating. All the occultic ties to it did it for me. Anyway, cute video! Have a blessed day.

    Happy Monday! Sending you hugs across the miles.
