{ Wednesday's Word - Pollen }

pollen

noun
  1. a fine powdery substance, typically yellow, consisting of microscopic grains discharged from the male part of a flower or from a male cone. Each grain contains a male gamete that can fertilize the female ovule, to which pollen is transported by the wind, insects, or other animals

That's probably way TMI about pollen.
My definition is that greenish yellow powder that I've sucked into my nostrils and lungs and now cannot breathe when I lay my head on the pillow!    We're seeing some relief in our neck of the woods, though, 'cause we're getting rain.....

sweet relief sent from heaven!

  1. Bless your heart! Marty suffers with allergies too and especially when he is outside trying to mow, weed-eat and etc. His eyes will almost swell shut! Praying for you dear friend. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  2. Ah yes, I've noticed it too. We have had rain here in Knoxville too which I hope helps. I sort of traded Florida pollen for Tennessee pollen. Hope you are feeling better! Looking forward to meeting in Cracker Barrel with tissues in hand! LOL

  3. The pollen has been bad here as well, but the much needed rain has washed a great deal of it away and I thank God for that. Blessings.

  5. Wow!!! I guess I didn't realize it was so bad up there in the mountains! Ours comes and goes it seems...pine pollen gives way to oak pollen, and who knows what else mixed in? Right now it is so dry we mostly have road dust in our nostrils and can't go out and take our usual walks on our road. So praying for rain for ALL of us SOON!!!! I hope you feel better soon.

  7. Pollen seems to be particularly bad this year here. Even with as much rain as we have had it still is thick. But oh the beauty of the fruit trees and other shrubs and flowers that are currently blooming. The pink dogwood are especially showy this year. Hope you get to feeling better, Deb.

  10. Crazy pollen around here, too. However, it's been this way since last year since we never had a real winter. See you Friday.
