{ Wednesday's Words - Complain vs.Explain }

Image result for crabby wife

So.....
my sweet hubby pointed out recently that I was complaining about something (and I'm sure I was), although I didn't see it as complaining because in my mind I thought I was explaining!

Proverbs 21:19
It's better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife.

Proverbs 25:24
It's better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.

A quarrelsome wife is as annoying as constant dripping on a rainy day.

This was meant to be somewhat funny but it also holds the truth that we, as wives, should be ready to listen to our husband's as they try to lead and guide us as Christ would.  If you're like me and probably most everybody, you want to immediately defend and justify yourself.  But, what it HOPEfully will do is help me be more aware the next time I open my mouth to try to EXPLAIN something!

😁

HOPE everybody has a Wonderful Wednesday!

  1. It is so hard to say what we mean and mean what we say.....it may sound differently to those listening. WE must practice NOT complaining but praising.

  3. Thank you for the helpful reminder. However, sometimes men perceive what their wives are saying as "complaining", when actually women sometimes need to express their feelings and then feel that their husbands are really hearing and understanding what they are saying. As a Christian counselor, I ran across this many times. God bless.

  4. LOL - I love that you were explaining and he said you were complaining. Common between men and women I think!! A good lesson for us, however, and the scripture supports it. Sigh.

  7. I know who this was written for...you'd say for yourself...but I know that God wrote it for me, too. Thank you so much, Deb, for your obedience.
