{ A Makeover }

A few months ago I decided I wanted an old dresser that I could refinish and use for storage.  I had the perfect spot in the living room for it (well, after I got rid of the table that was already there).  If you know me well, then you know that I'm cheap frugal.  I had searched for one on Craigslist and the Facebook yard sale groups, but still couldn't find what I wanted.  Then, one day Jess called and she had found one sitting in a pile of junk to be picked up and hauled off.  You can't beat free!  It just so happened they were pulling the trailer that day and my sweet son-in-law and the boys loaded it and brought it to me.  People, this thing was  ginormous.....

....and it reeked of cigarette smoke.  I cleaned and sanitized and sprayed Lysol and it sat outside to air out and I was so unsure about it, but I had a vision, which I shared with Pappy and he immediately went to work.  I wish I had taken step-by-step pics but picture that entire set of drawers on the left side cut off, kinda like this.....

Pappy cut and sanded and primed and painted (after the smell was gone).  I chose a paint color at Wal-Mart and here is what it looked like after he finished up with his part of the makeover.....

Didn't Pappy do an amazing job?
I was soooo happy at this point, but knew it could look even better.  I know that color isn't for everybody, but just wait till it gets glazed.  I spent several hours doing that yesterday. Glazing is messy, y'all, especially when you don't take the time to put on a disposable glove.

And, here she is all finished.....

See, it doesn't even look the same after it's glazed.

 I it!

Next up is painting the living room.
